Remember: The primary purpose of a website is to convey information. The star of your website is the content; the graphics are the supporting cast . Use good graphics to support the content, not overshadow it. This means good graphics on websites are usually supporting images for the text, and subtle but nice supporting layout graphics. Note: You may also include an animation if you wish, but keep them subtle and elegant. Noisy, annoying animations distract from the usability of a website! CHECK THE ASSESSMENT SECTION TO SEE HOW YOU WILL BE ASSESSED FOR YOUR WORK!!!

IMPORTANT WARNING ON ACADEMIC INTEGRITY:

Copying and pasting an entire site from the Internet IS NOT ACCEPTABLE WORK and is NOT PROOF OF LEARNING. You may wish to reproduce a look that you like and refer to how they coded it, but do so in parts and with the intention of incorporating a design element into your own overall design/layout. If I detect ANY plagiarism, you will receive ZERO immediately. Consider this the FINAL and ONLY WARNING. Take this seriously people - academic integrity vs plagiarism is not something I take lightly - DO NOT test me.

SUBMISSIONS / DEADLINES WEBSITE SUBMISSION

Zip up all the files in your website directory structure. The total size of your zip file must not exceed 20 MB. y y y Deadline: Week 12 Friday, 6 January, 5 p.m. Submission: http://pulse.mmu.edu.my/pca75pro/submitp.php (Password: geek1337) For assessment during your presentation, your files will be extracted and viewed through the lecturer s web server. If you used absolute links between your pages or for your images, all the links will be broken. Make sure you relatively link your pages and images! o Example of absolute link: <a href= file:///C:/Users/YourName/Project/page2.html > o Example of relative link: <a href= page2.html > o A good way to test this is to copy your website to a different directory or computer and test to see if all your links and images are working. o Use absolute links only when linking to another website. <a href= http://www.google.com > The first page of your website should always be named index.html (all small letters.)

PRESENTATION
y y Presentations will take place in Week 13. You will present your website and its contents for 6 minutes. o Spend 4 mins briefly introducing your content. Your website will be text heavy, so don t read from it just speak to the audience. o Spend 2 mins promoting your website layout, design, graphics, special effects etc. All your websites will be uploaded on a web server. I will announce on MMLS when it is ready. You should be able to see it at http://pulse.mmu.edu.my/pca0075/yourstudentid/ o E.g. http://pulse.mmu.edu.my/pca0075/1112701234/ o If you get Object Not Found error, it means that your submission is not uploaded under the correct ID number, or I did not upload/receive your submission. o If you get Access Forbidden error, it means that you do not have an index.html file as your main file. o If your page does not load, email the lecturer at klpoh@mmu.edu.my immediately either with corrections to your file structure (email me your site), or with enquiries to why your site is not loading (after the MMLS announcement that I have uploaded the pages).

ASSESSMENT
The student will be marked on the rubric given below (exceeds, meets, approaching or does not meet expectations). Total points earned will be divided by the maximum total and multiplied by each section s score. If plagiarism is detected, the score awarded will be ZERO (0).
