What is the purpose greenwashing?

This last reason is similar to the reason politicians like environmentalism so much.

Because when anything is blown out of proportion, it has the tendency to be politicized. When anything is politicized, it is always mired in corruption and hypocrisy. The world has a misplaced fear. Warming Scare. The chase between the ecoactivist and the hooded figure will be rough, gritty and suspenseful.
