Preamble: As per the demands of several present and past students, Life Science Foundation India, this year is planning to bring out an ANNUALALUMNI MAGAZINEand is expecting participation from all the present and ex-students of this organization. Editorial Committee: The editorial committee will comprise of a student member including one chief editor and 5 to 6 committee members. Candidates interested in joining the committee can mail us, mentioning their name, qualification and also a 2-3 line description of why they want to join the committee. The members are expected to have good Englishvocabulary and a penchant for readinq/ writing. Apart from this, creativity will be an important criterion. If you think you can pull-off well, editorial work and have the above qualities, you are the perfect candidate we require. Call for the articles: There will be a wide array of sections in the magazine including both scientific (preferably emerging such as nanobiotech etc) and non-scientific articles 1 write-ups, poems, jokes and funny incidents, articles on current affairs, latest inventions and discoveries, outstanding projects, art work (sketches / drawings / paintings / photography) etc. Articles and other contributions will be selected by the editorial committee jointly on the basis of relevance, credibility, expression of ideas in good language and the qualification of writer. Nevertheless,maximum no. of entries will be included in the magazinesince we attempt to encourage our students' in exploring new talents and interests. Title and logo of Magazine: We are also looking for good title for the magazine. You are requested to suggest the same with a short write-up explaining its meaning, origin and Significance(like if the title is 'iqra' then its meaning- to read, originarabic, and significance in your own words). If the title suggested by you is selected, then your name will be published with a concise write-up. ~ Biography 1 Short CV of Alumni: Alumni are also requested to submit their short bio-data (half page of A4 sheet) with a recent passport-sizephotograph (soft copy/scan) in the following format: 1) Name; (2) Qualifications; (3) Accomplishments 1 Achievements; (4) Awards; (5) I see Nano and other emerging areas of Science & technology as; (6) Hobbies; (7) Postal Address; (8) E-mail ID ; (9) Phone Number (if any); (10) Photo Appeal for Sponsor I support: The proposed Magazine would be of 400-500 pages (as every-alumni may contribute the articles), in colour, art paper and of high quality. The tentative estimates for printing would be around Rs. 3 to 4 lakhs. LSFI will contribute its major support of Rs. 1 lakh as grant-in-aid towards publishing this magazine. The rest of the expenseswould be contributed by the alumni (any of his 1 her desired amount can be contributed) or they may also mobilize donations etc by way of advertisements (may includes personal wishes, family wishes, about college, about office etc). The tariff for advertisement is Rs. 10001- per quarter page, Rs. 2000/- per half page, Rs. 3000/- per full page. Therefore, we encourage the alumni to mobilize the sponsorsfor this publication. All Demand Draft shall be drawn in favor of "Life Science Foundation India" payable at Huvinahadagali. Please write your address and the purpose for the DD taken on the backside of the DD.
