The Paulist Fathers mission for the University Catholic Center is to provide pastoral care to the Roman Catholic community at the University of Texas at Austin and to advance the spiritual, intellectual, and social life of the students, faculty, staff, and administration.
Mary, Holy Mother of God January 1, 2012 Happy New Year to all! We would like to welcome you all back to the UCC and we hope your new year is off to a great start!
UCC Happenings
Christmas Break Schedule In case you missed it, the UCC has moved to the Two Mass Sunday schedule. This means that we will have Masses at 10:30am and 8pm ONLY. This schedule will end AFTER January 8, 2012. Regular office hours and daily Mass schedule will resume on January 3, 2012. 2012 Calendars Still searching for a calendar for the new year? Look no further! The UCC has received plenty of calendars from the Paulist Fathers. The Saints of God calendar not only displays a beautifully drawn picture of some fantastic saints, it also gives a brief description of each saint and a small prayer catered to the saint and the month. This calendar also displays all holy days of obligation and all saint days, so you'll never miss another one again! The calendars are available on the tables in the atrium. Black Bag for January - St. Louise House St. Louise House is an apartment style transitional housing program. Its mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for homeless women and their children so that they can heal the emotional, physical, and spiritual wounds of homelessness and develop skills to become self-sufficient and secure stable housing. The program is designed to convey a sense of dignity and respect through which peoples view of themselves can be radically transformed. Families who would otherwise be treated with neglect, harshness, or pity can instead experience the values of respect, trust, and responsibility. For more information, visit saintlouisehouse.org Micah 6 Food Pantry Micah 6, our ecumenical food pantry, needs your help! Most of the student volunteers are gone during the break, so the staff needs more volunteers than ever. Can you spare a few hours of your Saturday morning to "do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with your God"? Simply slip on your closed-toe shoes and go to the University Presbyterian Church on Guadalupe and 22nd Street at 9:30am on Saturday. Ring the bell at the fence at the 22nd Street entrance. Thank you for your active work in carrying out social justice!

Weekly Reflection: The Gospel says the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. Now that you have seen the Christ child, how will you go forth praising and glorifying him?

Paulist Fathers Mission Statement We give the Word of God a voice in pulpits and print, on radio and television, on the Web and the wide screen. We search out those who have no church home, and welcome home those who have been away. We share the passion of St. Paul for unity in faith and solidarity in mission among all the baptized in the body of Christ. We build bridges of respect and collaboration with people of other world religions. We welcome people of diverse racial and cultural backgrounds in our parish, city center and campus worshipping communities. The Gospel we preach calls for all the children of God to be treated with dignity and justice. We claim Isaac Hecker as our founder, the Holy Spirit as our primary guide, St. Paul as our patron and laity as our valued partners in mission. We are the Paulist Fathers. Missionaries to North America.
