Epiphany always falls on January 6 and the word epiphany means to show or make known. It remembers the coming of the Wise Men who brought gifts to Jesus, the Christ Child. Epiphany focuses on the mission of the church, making Jesus Christ known to the world. Moravians practice open communion. All professing Christians are welcome to partake. The pastor will distribute the elements to you in the pew during the singing of hymns. After everyone is served we will all partake together. The 125th Anniversary Committee will meet this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Bible Study will resume this Wednesday evening at 6:30 in the Margaret Hammock Classroom. Choir practice will begin at 7:30. The Building/Construction Committee will meet this Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Monday, January 16 is Oak Groves assigned day for the Unity Prayer Watch. There is a sign-up sheet in the vestibule and it will be passed around during and after Sunday School. Oak Groves assigned hours are from 6 p.m. through midnight. During January we will collect school supplies for Middle Fork Elementary School. There is a list of suggested items in the newsletter. The deadline for bringing supplies is Sunday, January 22. We express our sympathy to the family of Michelle Sizemore who died December 31, 2011. She was the daughter of Loretta Melton.
