HRD The HRD Network was founded in 1986 in grass-roots fashion by a small number of credit union professionals who wished to realize the benefits of sharing, network, education, and support. Among our charter members in the mid-1980 were Calleen Davenport Kohns, Patti Reed, Carolyn Wilbur, Kathy Nixon, Rae Murbach, Marsha Maloy, and Ginny Baldauf.

At an early "Brownbag" gathering in 1986 at American Baptist Credit Union (now Christian Community Credit Union), the HRD Network name was selected and the organizational foundation was established. Since that time, the HRD Network has continued to carry on the tradition instilled by the founders by holding local brown bag sessions and conferences, and continuing to provide opportunities for you to learn and have resources to help make you and your Credit Union successful.

Our mission statement is as follows: The HRD Network, founded in 1986, supports Human Resources and Training professionals in credit unions throughout California and other Western states. We seek to promote the value of the HR and Training professions and to play a role in enhancing productivity, morale, and practical knowledge in the workplaces of our member credit unions by creating an environment of achievement, cooperation, collaboration, and information-sharing among our members. The HRD Network is an organization that has provided Credit Union HR and Training Professionals with networking and training opportunities for over 25 years. Currently, over 100 credit unions of various asset sizes in California, Nevada and Utah are discovering that the HRD Network provides their HR and Training staff with valuable opportunities to learn together and exchange information with peers. HRD Network members have seen that by having the right support and connections, it has helped them to be better equipped to face their challenges and meet the objectives of their Credit Union.
