Overview of available Web Dynpro ABAP User Interfaces:


Manager Access in Manager Self-Service (MSS) Employee Access in Employee Self-Service (ESS) Appraisal document which can be accessed via MSS access and/or ESS access The appraisal template layout can be configured via a new customizing activity The appraisal template can be configured to contain the SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 Cascading Goals functionality and enhanced SAP Learning Solution integration

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for using Web Dynpro ABAP User Interfaces:


You are using SAP ECC 6.0 You are using SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 You have activated the Business Function CA, Appraisals, Evaluations and Surveys 01 (CA_HAP_CI_1). You are using Business Package for Employee Self-Service 1.41 You are using Business Package for Manager Self-Service 1.41 If you also want to use the SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 Cascading Goals functionality and enhanced SAP Learning Solution integration, then the following is required in addition: You have activated the Business Function HCM, Performance Management 01 (HCM_OSA_CI_1). You are using Business Package for Talent Management Specialist 1.40 Usage of SAP Learning Solution (LSO) if you want to leverage enhanced LSO integration, i.e. LSO 600 SAP enhancement package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 and business function HCM Learning Solution 02 (HCM_LSO_CI_2) needs to be activated. Please refer to notes 1239426 and 1239427

Configuration

Overview of new functionality in Appraisal Template Catalog (system transaction phap_catalog_pa):


The appraisal template can be configured to contain Status Change Description Status Change Description: Appraisal templates can be configured to contain different combinations of statuses and/or substatuses. In addition, there is now the option to define Status Change Descriptions. If the Status Change Descriptions are maintained, then the corresponding appraisal documents will show these descriptions instead of the status button texts.

How to Configure Status Change Description


In order to configure the Status Change Description, go to Appraisal Template Catalog via Customizing (transaction SPRO) Personnel Management Personnel Development Objective Setting and Appraisals Edit Templates.

How to Configure Status Change Description


Create an appraisal template in the Appraisal Template Catalog. On template level go to Status Flow tab, define the statuses and/or sub statuses as required. For each status and/or substatus you may want to add a Status Change Description (this is optional).

Example Display of Configured Status Change Description


Generally, status buttons (including status button texts) which are available with the Business Server Page (BSP) user interface are replaced by radio buttons in Web Dynpro ABAP. If Status Change Description is configured, the corresponding appraisal documents will then show the Status Change Description in the section of the document where the status and/or substatus can be changed to be able to continue with the appraisal process.

Configuration

Overview of new Customizing activity (system transaction spro Personnel Management Personnel Development Objective Setting and Appraisals Define Tab and Process Configuration for Template):
The appraisal template layout can be configured via a new customizing activity. The following is available: Tab Configuration: Configurable tabs allow easy navigation. Information that was previously in columns are now organized as rows within the tabs. Process Configuration: Provides more information on what the user is supposed to do in that phase. More details can be shown by clicking on the new info link.

How to Configure Appraisal Template Layout


In order to configure the appraisal template layout, go to Customizing (transaction SPRO) Personnel Management Personnel Development Objective Setting and Appraisals Define Tabs and Process Configuration for Template.

Configuration Tabs Appear for Both Tab & Process Configuration


After clicking the IMG activity, a Web Dynpro pop-up will appear. Choose appropriate appraisal template and applicable configuration tab in order to proceed.

After selecting the appraisal template, the criteria groups and/or criteria that have been set up in template configuration (transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA) will appear.

Within the Process Configuration tab, the process Phases and Steps can be set up.

How to Configure Process Phases


Each process Phase can be defined by providing a meaningful title, a description if needed, and a start and end date. Create a step for each applicable appraisal template status and/or substatus by clicking on New.

Decide Appraisal Status and set up the Start- and End Date for each Phase.

Example Display of Configured Process Configuration


The corresponding appraisal documents will then display the Process Configuration accordingly. Process Phases are shown at the top of the screen and provide the user an overview of the phases of the appraisal process. Process Steps are shown in the Process Description box and give the user guidance on what needs to be done in the current Process Step.

Via click on Info link in Process Description section, the user can get information of the overall process. Via click on Info, a pop-up comes up with the overall process information. The current phase or step is highlighted. 2

How to Access Appraisal Documents

After clicking the service Appraisal Documents link, the employee access comes up in a new window.

Administrative Data represent the configured generic document information such as appraisal document status and appraiser name. Per default the Administrative Data section is not displayed, the user can display the information via clicking on the tray .

Configured Tabs in Appraisal Document Allow Easy Navigation


Criteria Groups and/or criteria that have been flagged in the Configuration Tab option will now show up as containers in the front end as shown here.

New Layout in Rows Within the Configured Tabs


Criteria groups and/or criteria that are grouped under one tab are now shown in rows within each tab. Also any added new elements now appear in rows.

This is a demonstration to show that if a category group (e.g. Qualification) has not been flagged as a tab in the backend it will show up as a row within the previous configured tab.

Setting Courses as Mandatory


The Business Add-In (BAdI) Add Course from LSO (mandatory course assignment) that has been previously included as a Free Enhancement will now automatically pop up each time a new course type shall be added. If you click on Add, the 2 course catalog will pop up (tree structure). A course 1 type can be selected 3

New Radio Buttons Available to Change the Document Status


In this example, to complete the planning phase the form can be sent to the manager to proceed with the next phase. This can be done via selecting the corresponding radio button on the left hand side of the screen and clicking continue.
