Overview of new Customizing activity (system transaction spro Personnel Management Personnel Development Objective Setting and Appraisals Define Tab and Process Configuration for Template):
The appraisal template layout can be configured via a new customizing activity. The following is available: Tab Configuration: Configurable tabs allow easy navigation. Information that was previously in columns are now organized as rows within the tabs. Process Configuration: Provides more information on what the user is supposed to do in that phase. More details can be shown by clicking on the new info link.

After selecting the appraisal template, the criteria groups and/or criteria that have been set up in template configuration (transaction PHAP_CATALOG_PA) will appear.

Decide Appraisal Status and set up the Start- and End Date for each Phase.

Employee Access via Employee Self-Service: Customizing to Get Flexible User Interface Access
In Customizing, choose Cross-Application Components Homepage Framework Services Assign Services to Subareas.
After clicking the service Appraisal Documents link, the employee access comes up in a new window.

Category Qualification was NOT configured as a tab in customizing as in the previous example!
Qualification shows up as a row within previous tab assignment (in this case: Development Plan)
