Background & Objective of the course The information and Communication Technology (ICT) is continuously transforming the business world. The continuing stream of innovations in ICT is enabling entrepreneurs and innovative traditional firms to create new business model, destroy old business models and transform the day-to-day operations of businesses. Without understanding how IS is changing the organizations and personal life, the students will not be in a position to cope them up with the changes taking around the world. The purpose of this course is to introduce the students with the different parts and parcel of MIS with the emphasis of its use in business and management. The students will learn how different IS used in different organizations to enhance productivity and achieve sustainable competitive advantage. In addition to that they will also learn how to solve practical business problems. Methodology Lecture and experiential learning methods will be applied to create a better learning environment for the students. Students must come to the class reading the chapter / subject that will be taught in the class. It will help the student to do well in the POP-UP Quizzes. No Quiz or assignment will be retaken. Students are advised not to bother the teachers in this regard. Assignment must be typed with 1 line spacing, Times New Roman and Fort size 12. Plagiarism will be penalized. Zero Tolerance is the norm in case of academic misconduct or dishonesty or cheating. Which means helping other students to cheat in examinations, reproducing the work of others as ones own work, fabrication or the falsification of any information with the intend to deceive, forgery, alteration, or misuse of university documents, records and identity card. Time to time you will be given different sheets, cases, MCQs, buy a clip file and keep them till your semester final. This will be handy for you on the mid-term & semester final examination. Students must follow the university set dress code. Standard grading policy set by the university will be followed in evaluating students.
