Under the general to close supervision of a social services provider or similar staff, provides a broad range of social services to patients and their families. Responsibilities include completion of psychosocial assessments/histories, treatment team participation, provision of emotional support and basic educational counseling, liaison with community resources, and discharge planning. May function as a lead worker for other technicians. Completes a psychosocial assessment/history/update of the patient based on interviews with patient, family, significant others and community agencies with which they may have involvement. Actively participates as a treatment team member to assist with diagnosis, identification of the patient's strengths and weaknesses, and development of a plan for treatment and discharge. Provides guidance, direction, and emotional support pertaining to problems of daily living, access to resources, hospital policies or procedures, and life-skills issues, to patients/families/significant others; based on knowledge of the presenting disabilities, typical coping patterns, and available resources. Plans for support services for patients and their families following discharge. Works with appropriate community agencies to facilitate continuity of care. Acts as liaison for patient with family members, significant others, physician, organizational components, etc., inside and outside the hospital to facilitate and insure communication, linkage and continuity of care. Prepares reports for supervisors, colleagues, or outside requests and disseminates to appropriate persons within or outside the hospital. Qualifications Completion of 90 quarter hours (60 semester hours) in psychology, social work, sociology, counseling or a related area AND two years direct client experience in a mental health or social services setting OR Completion of an undergraduate degree in any area AND two years of direct client experience in a mental health or social services setting OR Completion of an undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, sociology, counseling, or a related area AND EITHER completion of a practicum or one year of direct client experience in a mental health or social services setting. NOTE: Experience may substitute for education if evaluated as equivalent

Under general supervision, provides various direct, technical nursing care functions in accordance with individual nursing care plans and/or as directed by attending physician or registered nurse. Administers medications, records required information in patients' charts, and prepares patients for examinations as necessary. Observes patients' conditions and behaviors, and intervenes as appropriate. May supervise other staff, such as licensed practical nurses or direct care staff. Performs direct patient care activities by administering medications, explaining medication(s) to patients and families, and observing and recording patient responses and medication side effect(s); administers treatment as directed. Maintains an adequate supply of medications, and regularly monitors to ensure medications have not expired. The Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR), Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, and Addictive Diseases, is seeking qualified candidates for our Psychiatrist positions within our Mental Health facility system. Candidates should be (Board Certified or Board Eligible) in Psychiatry with a career interest and/or experience in public hospital psychiatry. This Psychiatrist will enjoy collegial relationships with a large psychiatric/medical staff, and will benefit from, and provide cross coverage among this group. Evening and weekend hours are available. In conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team the Psychiatrist addresses the clinical needs of Child/ Adolescent, Adult and Forensic consumers, utilizing comprehensive care plans including behavioral support and pharmacotherapy. Under broad supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments. May Direct clinical operations, prepare budgets and/or participate in research efforts.
Preferred Qualifications

Graduation from a medical school recognized by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners and completion of an ACGME approved General Psychiatry Residency. Licensure to practice medicine in the state of Georgia as provided by state law is required. Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following: Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Experience in treating persons with serious and persistent mental illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of an interdisciplinary treatment team. Experience working with consumers in adult, child, and adolescent mental health, developmental disabilities, addictive disease, forensic psychiatry and/or long-term care Psychiatrist with appropriate credentials may qualify for appointment to one of Georgias medical schools as clinical, adjunct, or academic faculty. This position is located in a six-bed, community based, and transitional facility for consumers with addictive diseases and chronic mental illness. It is operated by Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital. The purpose of this program is to facilitate consumer acquisition of those skills necessary to reside independently in the community. The third shift Residential Care Providers duties will include ensuring the presence of a clean, healthy and safe living environment for all residents by preparing evening meals, providing watchful oversight, completing daily routine cleaning duties, and transporting residents as needed. This houseparent

functions as the Lead for other direct care staff and provides necessary support to the MH/DD Team Leader as the weekend supervisor, the Infection Control and Fire Safety Officer. Benefits

Qualifications

Location: Morningside CIH/Douglasville Shift: 7:00 am 3:30pm (Thursday Monday)

** Applicants for the part time position will need to be very flexible with respect to availability to work. The ideal applicant will be able to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift, Monday to Sunday. Weekly hours will vary between 10 and 28.
