Read the entire installation pamphlet prior to beginning the installation of the accessory. Ensure that the vehicle is properly protected in the area that the accessory is to be installed. To prevent vehicle damage, never place tools on top of painted surfaces, seats, dash pad, console or floor carpet / mat. Always wear appropriate safety gear to include gloves and eye protection when required.

WIRE CODES
Two-color wires are indicated by a two-letter symbol. The first indicates the base color of the wire, the second indicates the color of the stripe. For example: W/R = White wire with a red stripe BR/Y = Brown wire with a yellow stripe Symbol (Example): Solid Color Wire B Black W/R Striped Wire White (Base Color) Red (Stripe Color)

Insert panel removal tool in between lower dash trim panel and side kick plate trim panel. Twist lower dash trim panel towards the rear of the vehicle to release the interlocking tabs. CAUTION: Do not damage lower dash trim panel or side kick plate trim panel.

Remove (2) Phillips screws from right and left side of lower dash trim panel. Using panel removal tool, release each locking tab, next to the screw locations on side of dash trim panel. Remove panel until wires and connectors in dash piece are exposed. Unplug all connectors, including the OBD II connector, before completely removing dash trim panel. CAUTION: Do not scratch lower dash trim panel. Do not damage wires or connectors in trim panel.

Remove steel knee bolster plate by removing (5) bolts with 10mm socket and ratchet.

Insert 4mm screwdriver under screw cover in order to remove. Once cover is removed, remove (1) Phillips screw from A-pillar trim.

CAUTION: Edges of steel knee bolster and brackets are sharp.

CAUTION: Do not damage A-pillar trim.

Remove A-pillar trim by pulling top out towards passenger-side of vehicle and then pulling base upwards toward roof of vehicle.

Partially remove driver-side sun visor hook by removing (1) Phillips screw and let hook hang on retaining cup.

CAUTION: Ensure care is taken to prevent damage to A-pillar and airbag unit.

CAUTION: Do not damage sun visor hook or headliner.

Using panel removal tool, push clips in to release from sheet metal in headliner. Clips on both sides need to be disengaged.

Using panel removal tool, pull clip on bottom of mount towards the rear of vehicle. With clip still held, tap or pull mirror upwards in a parallel direction to the windshield. DO NOT pull away from windshield. CAUTION: Ensure care is taken to prevent damage to mirror mount, windshield, and headliner.

CAUTION: Do not damage sun visor hook or headliner.

Slide EC mirror onto windshield button and tighten using T20 Torx Driver.

CAUTION: Tighten the mirror mounting bracket screw to 15.6 lbs-in (17.9 kg-cm).

CAUTION: Ensure 5-pin connector is securely installed.

Wrap (1) piece of foam tape around EC mirror harness approximately centered above visor.

Tuck the EC mirror harness between the headliner and the roof. Stop just past the visor clip location.

Tuck EC mirror harness between headliner and roof. Taped portion of EC mirror harness should be where headliner bends towards driver-side door. CAUTION: Use caution when working with headliner to prevent creases or damage.

Route EC mirror harness down A-pillar and secure to factory wire harness with (4) wire ties. Secure EC mirror harness near OEM clips with (3) wire ties and just below connector at bottom of A-pillar with (1) wire tie. Clip ends of wire ties. CAUTION: If vehicle is equipped with a sunroof, do not secure wire ties to drain tube.

Route EC mirror harness through dash, ensuring harness is routed to the back side of the support bar, as shown above, facing driver. Secure EC mirror harness to the far Left Side of the support bar with (1) piece of foam tape. Continue to route the harness down to the connectors in the lower fuse panel by routing EC mirror harness to the front side of the left support for the fuse panel. CAUTION: Ensure harness is not damaged during routing in front of support bar.

Locate the 54-pin connector, which has a black cover, at the bottom left of the lower fuse panel (Connector I/P-D). Remove the 16pin connector (Connector I/P-C), located above the 54-pin connector, for better access to the 54-pin connector. CAUTION: Ensure that the correct connector is used.

N O T E
Push Black Tab on the face of black connector cover to unlock the Grey Lever. Slide the Grey Lever all the way towards the right, until it clicks, to unlock the connector. Once connector is removed from fuse panel, press black lock tab, on right side, inwards into the cover. Swing out the cover and then slide the cover to the right in order to remove black cover from connector to gain access to the wires.

Ensure that the connector has approximately 3 inch of the wire harness bundle exposed. If not, remove the tape covering wires and plastic sheathing and then carefully trim back sheathing around harness bundle about 1.5 inches. Locate the Green wire in Pin #45 of the connector (I/P-D). CAUTION: Ensure that wires are not damaged if trimming back sheathing. Ensure that the correct wire is used.

Attach t-tap to Green wire in Pin #45. Install t-tap as close to sheathing as possible. Use pliers to snap t-tap together. Reference page 3, T-tap Installation Procedure, for detailed instructions. CAUTION: Ensure that the wire is in the slot of t-tap and that both halves of t-tap connector are snapped together properly.

Insert spade terminal of the BLACK w/ WHITE Tracer wire of EC mirror harness into t-tap connector of Green wire (switched IGN 12 Volts). Reference page 3, T-tap Installation Procedure, for detailed instructions. CAUTION: Ensure male spade connector is fully inserted into wire tap. Check to see that the spade connector did not miss the slot. Check to see that it is not visible on either side of female connector.

Reinstall the black cover on 54-pin connector. Slide the cover legs into the slots on the left side of the connector. With cover all the way to the left and legs in place, push the right side of the cover down until the black lock tab clicks into place. CAUTION: Ensure t-taps have been installed far enough away from the connector that the cover seats into position correctly without touching the t-taps. Ensure the cover does not pinch any of the wires.

Install the 54-pin connector back into the lower fuse panel. Line up the slot in the bottom of the grey lever with the pin in the connector slot of the lower fuse panel. Once the pin and slot are aligned, push the black unlock tab inwards to allow the grey lever to slide to the left. Slide grey lever until it clicks and locks into place. CAUTION: Ensure the connector is fully seated and grey lever is locked into place.

Partially reinstall steel knee bolster. Insert the (4) RIGHT MOST bolts through the knee bolster and into the appropriate threaded holes. Securely tighten bolts with 10mm socket. CAUTION: Ensure (4) RIGHT MOST bolts are securely tightened. Do NOT install the left most bolt until you read step 26.

Route ring terminal on Ground wire from EC mirror harness over the top and in front of knee bolster, as shown above. Reinstall the nut in the BOTTOM - LEFT of the steel knee bolster plate by first inserting the ring terminal over the stud, on top of the knee bolster. Securely tighten nut with 10mm socket. CAUTION: Ensure nut on ground bolt, with ring terminal and knee bolster, is securely tightened.

Secure remaining EC mirror harness to the OEM wire harness bundle that comes from the same 54-pin connector used for the connection points. Bundle and secure the EC mirror harness UNDERNEATH the OEM harness with (1) wire tie, as shown above. Clip end of wire tie.

Testing Preparation: Reconnect negative battery cable, using 10mm socket. Reinstall all connectors in lower dash trim panel, including the OBD II connector. Reinstall in reverse order, all trim pieces removed during installation. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. With the vehicle in a fairly well-lit area, perform the following: To make sure the auto-dimming feature is on, verify that the green LED to the left of the center button is on. If it is not on, push the button to turn the green LED on.

Cover the forward looking photocell on the back of the mirror with a dark cloth or towel. In a few seconds the mirror will begin to darken. Remove the cloth from the forward looking photo cell and the mirror will begin to clear.

Verify that either a direction, such as NE, or C is displayed in the display window. If not, ensure the feature is turned on by pressing the button. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. Push each HomeLink button, one at a time, and verify that the LED indicator to the left of the center button illuminates with a red LED. Testing is now complete.

Place Quick Reference Guide in vehicle glove box. Remove fingerprints, smudges, etc. from mirror. CAUTION: DO NOT spray glass cleaner or other cleaning liquid directly onto the mirror as it may damage the electronics.
