Introduction
How do the sights and sounds, the traditions and excitement of faraway places translate into color and texture for the 2012 Collections? Find out at one place: the CBI Pavilion at Maison & Objet 2012. A showcase for the senses Eight companies from developing countries will travel to Paris, bringing the best of their collections. Each has completed the CBI Export Coaching Programme to prepare them for the European marketplace. And all are ready to forge lasting relationships with European partners. Coming from Afghanistan and India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka, Morocco and South Africa, these companies have infused their traditional crafts with contemporary innovation. Artisanal craftsmanship, top quality natural materials, certified organic, and certified fairtrade. These companies have tapped into the pure trends of Maison & Objet, yet can offer the competitive pricing you expect from developing nations. Meet them first, in these pages. Meet them in person, at Paris-Nord Villepinte, 20 - 24 January.
