Greenwood Notes, undergraduate textbooks A course webpage will be setup at Webcourses@UCF. Please check the webpage frequently to be up to date on course material, including homework and solutions. Announcements will also be posted on the course page. Introduce basic notions and principles of dynamics of particles, rigid bodies, and distributed mass systems and their use in basic applications. Introductory concepts and coordinate systems Kinematics and dynamics of a particle and systems of particles Lagranges Equations Kinematics and dynamics of rigid bodies Exam 1 30% Exam 2 30% Homework 10 % Final Exam 30% Tests will typically consist of three problems. One of these three will be directly from the assigned homework or classroom example or the review problems. During the tests, you may refer to handwritten notes on 1 side of one sheet of paper, 8.5 by 11" on which you may write anything you wish. You must sign the sheet on the back and hand in with the test. No photo-copied or printed material. You may refer to three such sheets during the final examination. Test dates will be announced two weeks ahead and no make-up exam will be provided except for those with a University excused absence. Homework is due on the first class in the week following assignment. It will be graded on the basis of representing a serious effort and being handed in on time. After homework is due, the solution will be uploaded to the course page. 1.Attend the class 2. Read before and after class 3. Do the homework 4.Study the notes and take extra exercises besides homework
