Why not begin the New Year by making Sewing Circle a priority the 3rd Wed. of each month! Come and help needy persons around the world, while enjoying the uplifting fellowship offered by a variety of women of all ages! Work includes quilting, knotting comforters or sewing on a sewing machine. Knotting comforters is easy to do and you can work at your own speed. If you do not know how, we will be glad to show you. You are welcome to come for the entire time or just a few hours as it suits you. This month we will share a fellowship meal together, so please bring a hot or cold dish to share with the group. Place settings and drink are provided. The project for Sewing Circle this month is comforters and blankets. A displaced woman in Afghanistan who received a warm, colorful comforter wrote I dont know how to thank those who send these beautiful blankets, but I can say that they have saved my childrens lives since the tent gets very cold at night. If you enjoy sewing you are invited to make a comforter that MCC will distribute to someone in need somewhere in the world. Purchased blankets in twin or full size can also be used. Comforter tops are also welcome and will be completed by Sewing Circle. Blankets and comforters/tops can be brought to the church and Sewing Circle will see that they get to MCC. Thank You! Jan. 20, Fri.-Our next Coffee House for a Cause will be held at 7 p.m. We will be assembling parachutes for Voice of the Martyrs to be dropped over Columbia. All materials are provided, but we do need sponsors. Each parachute needs a sponsor which costs $5. If you would like to sponsor one or a few, envelopes are located in the Narthex. Come join us for an evening of fun, fellowship and food. Jan. 24, Tues.-Everyone is invited to a work day at MCCs Material Resource Center, Trout Run Road, Ephrata PA, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Men and women of all ages are welcome to spend the day, or just a few hours, helping with recycling projects, quilting, knotting comforters, etc. If you are able to come the entire day, please bring your lunch. -Kevin & Chrystles email has changed to Swatski@frontier.com. Happy Birthday! Jared Sauder on Tues., Daniel Wenger and Nelson Horning on Fri.
