Samuel, Samuel!
ack in the eleventh century, King Henry III of Bavaria grew tired of court life and the pressures of being a monarch. So he made application to a head abbot at a local monastery, asking to be accepted as a member and spend the rest of his life in the monastery. "Your Majesty," said the abbot, "do you understand that the pledge here is one of obedience? That will be hard because you have been a king." "I understand," said Henry. "The rest of my life I will be obedient to you, as Christ leads you." "Then I will tell you what to do," said the abbot. "Go back to your throne and serve faithfully in the place where God has put you." When King Henry died, a statement was written: "The King learned to rule by being obedient." When we tire of our roles and responsibilities, it helps to remember God has planted us in a certain place and told us to be a good accountant or teacher or mother or father. Christ expects us to be faithful where he puts us, and when he returns, we'll rule together with him.

Welcome to Worship
elcome to New Hope Church, a place for new beginnings! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please remember to sign the attendance folder at your pew so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! New Hope Church exists to: Glorify God in worship and rejoice in our life together; Share the Good News of the Gospel in word and deed; Reach as many as we can with the saving love of Jesus; Help each person grow toward Christian maturity; And find their place of service in the church and in the world.
Brad preached a wonderful sermon especially geared to youth. Invite other youth to come. We will open the doors to start coming at 5pm to hang out, play games, and talk. New Small Groups Starting February 5. Our adults will begin a 3month journey building relationships, learning God's word, and laughing together. We are asking all of our adults to choose one of 3 small groups that will begin the week of February 5th and run through the end of April. Our small groups will run Spring and Fall semesters. The spring semester small groups will focus on Discipleship, Family, or Leadership. Come and get involved in our new 2012 programs at New Hope! New Hope Choir Led by Ben, the New Hope choir is more than just a choir. It is a small group that meets on Sunday evenings to, yes, practice some songs, but also to fellowship, express concerns, reflect on a devotional together and pray for one another. Those in the choir are blessed to be in it together. Join the choir and find out why! They meet every Sunday evening at 6:00.
