Ref: Railway Board's letter No. 2007/RE/161 15 dated 29.05.08: ~ Board vide their letter above had directed for preparation of project report for electrification of Bangalore- Yesvantpur- Tumkur section. Electrification of Bangalore'; 'I ~1 Yesvantpur, Yesvantpur-Chikbannavar is already being done by CORE,'"

~ " This rep~ft'is therefore in respect of Chikbannavar-Tumlmr. The prqject report ~''-'' has been prep8Iedby Electrical Department after due survey and at an approxi~ate ,cost ~ ofRs. 55.84 crores. ROR comes to 13.08 %. ! As ,desired by Board, verbatim comments of COM and vetting of Finance is required along with approval of GM. Verbatim comments of COM are placed at NP-6 & 7 where: COM has strongly, ' recommended the work of electrification of the above section. " Finance has vetted the proposal (CP-3) with the remarks, "While sending to Board, specific comments have to be furnished for proposing the work with the RoRof 13.08 %". Remarks to the above are as under: ' Goods traffic is expeCted to increase in view of the steelplants coming up in (i) the West of Tumkur. Besides the above, it wilt enable introducing MEMU services between , (ii) Bangalore- Tumkt.ir on which section there is heavy commuter traffic.
