Lesson Overview

There is much debate over the origin of the world. Evolutionists believe the world evolved but in order for things to evolve, something had to first be created. This is the hole in their theory. The real truth is that God is the Creator. In Him there is no beginning and there is no end. There was never anyone or anything to exist before Him. God is the Creator of all things and because of that, He knows all things. So for the second part of our God is series, we will be teaching the kids something they will probably never hear in school God is the Creator. Bible Lesson: Creation (Genesis 1 and 2) The first book of the Bible is Genesis meaning the beginning. There is no better place to start than the very beginning when God created the world and everything in it. This Bible lesson will give the account of Creation from day one all the way to the sixth day when God created man. Object Lesson 1: Follow wherever He leads So many people get frustrated with their navigation systems because they think they are being lead in the wrong direction! Sometimes they turn them off, start going their way, end up completely lost and turn the navigation system back on again to lead them out of the mess they just got in! Its a lot like that with God people think they know better. They dont always like the way that God is leading them because it may be the unpopular thing to do, but God knows all things He really knows us and He knows whats best for us therefore we should follow Him wherever He leads. Object Lesson 2: Trust that He can fix all of your problems If your car has a problem you would not take it to a beautician or a doctor. It wouldnt make any sense. Theres only one person you would take a care to and thats a mechanic. Mechanics know all about cars and so you trust that they will fix the problem. But when we have problems in our life, were not always as smart. Some people run to a friend, some people run to a bottle, some people give in to depression. No matter what the problem or how big it is, there is one person we can always trust to fix it God. He should be the first person we run to. There is nothing too hard for God because He is our Creator and He knows all things. God can fix all of our problems but we have to trust Him. Teacher's Responsibility Who is the first person you call on when you have a problem? Do you call your closest friends one at a time and tell them all about it? Do you ring your family members to pour your heart out to them? They may give good advice and they may be helpful but they should never take the place of God in your life. No matter how much they know, they didnt create you and they dont know all things. God should always be the one you run to, the one you pour your heart out to He is waiting to hear all about your problems and give you the solutions you need. Think about some problems you are experiencing in your life at this moment no matter how big or small they may be. Have you been spending more time talking to people about them or to God? If you want the real solutions, you know what you have to do - go to God.

Are you guys ready to have some fun? I want you to jump up and down 3 times. Now turn around three times. Everyone put 10 fingers up in the air and countdown with me-10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 (blow the whistle)

Welcome
It is good to see you guys. Did you guys have a good week? Who did something extra fun this week? I did something fun this week as well. I (tell them what you did).

Rules
Kids Church always works best when we work together. When we follow rules, things run smoothly. There are many children here today. In order for us all to have fun and learn, we all have to follow the same rules. We do not play favorites in Kids Church, and we do not allow bullies either. We all follow the same rules. Today we have a shortcut to help us remember the rules. The shortcut is the word "SOW." Let us sow a good seed today by obeying the rules. (Keep the rules posted or write them on the chalkboard or on poster board.) Let us review the rules: S- Stay in your seat. O- Obey your leaders. W- Whistle means quiet.

Prayer
Dear God, Thank you for your love. Thank you that you love me more than anyone else could ever love me. Thank you that you are always there for me. Help me to understand that and remember it when I dont feel loved. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Pledges
We live in the best country in the whole world so I want you guys to stand up with pride and say this pledge so the people all the people everywhere can hear you!

American Flag
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." Living in America is great but being a Christian is even better. So say the pledge to the Christian flag with me.

Songs
If you have a praise and worship team, it would be great to implement them for this part of your service. If you do not have a praise and worship team, play preselected music from CDs. Try to play songs that the kids will know and enjoy. Have the songs written on transparencies, poster boards or inserted into the power point presentation so the entire audience can see the words and participate in your praise and worship time.

I know all of you are very smart. I want to see if you can remember what the four most important things are. But first repeat them with me as loud as you can. 1. God loves me 2. I have sinned 3. Jesus died for me 4. I need to decide to live for God. Note to Teacher: Pick individuals who can say them by heart. If they get them correct, give them a small prize.

Game #1
Icy Hot Dog Foot Pass Participants: 2 boys and 2 girls Props: 4 chairs, 2 large clear plastic containers filled with cold water, ice, and about 8 hot dogs wieners each, 6 hot dog buns, 6 paper plates. Preparation: Line the chairs up in two horizontal rows of two, with each chairs facing the audience (so the two boys face the boys on their side and the two girls face the girls on their side). By the first chair in each row, place the container with hot dog wieners on the floor. By the second chair, place three plates with three open hot dog rolls on the floor. Each team sits on the chairs in a row barefoot. Playing: On Go! player 1 in each team (by the container of water/wieners) tries to grab a wiener with their foot. They will then pass the wiener to their partner using their feet only. Their partner will then place the wiener into a hot dog bun, also using their feet. Repeat this until you have three hot dogs made. The winner is the first team to complete three hot dogs using their feet only.

Duck Shoot Participants: One boy and one girl. Props: Long piece of 2x4 wood, 2 chairs, 20 rubber ducks, 2 water pistols Preparation: Balance the 2x4 across the backs of 2 chairs. Line up 10 rubber ducks at each end of the wood. Give each contestant a full water pistol and have them stand about 10 feet away from the ducks. Playing: On Go! players will attempt to shoot their ducks off the 2x4 using the water pistol. The winner is the first person to knock off all 10 ducks, or the person to have knocked off the most by the time their water pistol has run out.

Quiet Seat Explanation


Props: You will need a loud whistle, four blue balloons for the boys' side, and four red balloons for the girls' side. You will also need helpers on the boys' side and helpers on the girls' side to pass out the Quiet Seat prizes. Prizes like candy, snacks, or Bibles are all effective prizes. The prizes are given only to the kids who are the quietest during the teaching time. Presentation: That was so much fun. I love playing games. Game time is exciting but it is not the most exciting part. The most exciting part of Sunday School is when we teach you about the Word of God. We are about to start our teaching time and I need for everyone to pay close attention. Boys, I have four balloons on your side. If I see you talking to your friends or playing with your neighbor, I am going to pop a balloon. If I pop all four of your balloons, I am going to give all of the candy to the girls. Girls, you also have four balloons. If I see any type of distraction on the girls side, I am going to pop a balloon. If I pop all four of your balloons, I am going to give all of the candy to the boys. I have quiet seat watchers walking around looking for the perfect kids. A perfect kid is a kid who is sitting up straight, feet on the floor, hands in your laps, and whose eyes are on the teachers. If the quiet seat watchers see a perfect kid, they will slip a piece of candy into your hand. You are not to eat that candy until you are outside of the building. Everyone should be sitting up straight with your feet flat on the floor. No one should be moving around at this time. The bathrooms are now closed. The only ones who will be moving around in here are the quiet seat watchers. Their job is to watch you, not us. If I see anyone talking, I will pop a balloon. You know what happens if we pop all of your balloons; you go home today with nothing. We are now ready for the most important time of the day. It is now time for the preaching of the Word of God. On the count of three, I will blow my whistle, and quiet seat time will officially begin. One, two, and three. (Blow the whistle.) Note: The Quiet Seat time officially starts after the whistle has been blown.

Preparation Choreograph a mime to the song, Indescribable by Chris Tomlin. Have corkboard ready to bring on once mime is over.

Last week we asked the question Who is God? and we said that God is so many things. He is faithful, kind, compassionate, everlasting and strong. Nothing and nobody can compare to who God is. He is absolutely amazing. (Lights fade. Indescribable song plays. 3 actors come out in white T-shirts and mime to the song.) That song was talking about how amazing God is. There are not enough words to describe how amazing He is. In Him there is no beginning and there is no end. He was, is, and always will be. There was never anyone who existed before God and there will never be anyone that exists after God. Nobody created God; He is the Creator of all things. (Bring out the board) And thats another important aspect in understanding who God is. God is the Creator. (Hold up puzzle piece and fit it into place on board) Look at what todays memory verse says in Isaiah 40:28: The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. God is everlasting and Hes created everything. He has always been and He always will be forever and ever. Our imaginations cant even understand that! But thats how amazing He is. Listen, nobody created God but He is the Creator of everything. That means that He knows everything. There is nothing that God doesnt know; nothing is hidden from His sight. He knows how many stars are in the sky. People study for years trying to figure it out but they never will. God made every star and put them in their spot. God knows how many fish are in the sea. He knows how many hairs you have on your head. He knows everything thats ever happened in your past, He knows what you were doing two weeks ago, He knows what youre thinking right now, and he knows where youll be next year. God knows all things! God is the Creator and He knows all things. Because God knows all things, you need to: Sub 1: Follow wherever He leads

Preparatio Make a mobile using a piece of wood and fishing wire to hang from n the ceiling (or hold up) of the solar system. Something like this:

Presentation:

The very first book of the Bible is called Genesis and that means its the beginning of something. Theres no better place for the Bible to start than in the very beginning when God created the world and everything in it. In fact, the very first sentence in the Bible says this: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He created everything in 6 days, but before he did that, there was nothing. Everything was just big, empty and dark. (All the stage lights dim and go dark. God enters the stage) And thats when God spoke these words: God: Let there be light. (Lights fade up and brighten the stage completely. God looks around happy with His Creation) Teacher: The moment God said that, He created light. Never before had there been day and night, but at that moment there was. That was the first day. Then God spoke again.

God: Let there be something separating the waters. I will call it the sky. (Clouds picture on the projector screens) Teacher: When he spoke those words, the sky appeared and the clouds. On the second day God created the sky. God: Let the water come together and let dry ground appear. This will be called land and sea. Let the ground produce plants and trees that bear fruit. (Sound of earthquake and big plastic rocks and trees put out on stage) Teacher: So by the end of third day, God had created light, the sky, the sea and dry ground as well as the plants of the earth. But God wasnt finished with Creation yet. After He created all of that, He spoke again. God: Let there be the sun, moon and stars in the sky. (Put up stick with sun, moon, and stars hanging from it) Teacher: God created the sun, the moon and all of the stars in the sky on the fourth day. Then God started to create life. On the fifth day God spoke and said this: God: Let the waters be full of living creatures and let birds fly above the earth in the sky. (Slideshow with pictures of sea creatures) Teacher: When God said that, the waters were full fish, sea creatures, and whales. Then it came to the sixth day and God spoke again: God: Let there be living creatures to move along the ground, livestock and wild animals. (Slideshow of land animals on screens) Teacher: When God said that, all of the animals that we see today were created by God. At this point God had created the entire world and everything in it with the exception of one thing - people. God spoke one more time. God: Let us make man in our own image. He can rule over the earth and all that is in it. (God bends down near the rocks and looks as if Hes making and shaping something on the ground. Play intense music.) Teacher: So God took some of the dirt of the ground and the Bible says he formed the shape of a man, then He breathed the breath of life into it and the first man was created. (God blows some of the sand from His hand and man stands to his feet from behind the rock. Fade intense music.)

God is the Creator. Nobody created God. God is the Creator of all things. The sad thing is that if youre not reading the Bible and youre only reading your school text books, youll never know this. At school youll be told that you werent created they dont even want to say that word because they dont believe it. But God is the one that created you. Your teacher may tell you that a big bang created the world but that is a lie. They may tell you that you evolved from a monkey, but thats a lie. You need to tell those people, I didnt come from a monkey, God created me! You wont learn that in school, but you will learn it in the Bible. (Hold up Bible) This is the truth. The truth is that God is the Creator and because Hes the Creator, He knows all things.

Object Lesson 1
Follow wherever He leads Props Actors Navigation system (or something to look like one) Actor: Voice:

Presentation:
Actor: (Enters with navigation system in hand trying to figure out the way. Actor talks to himself) Man, I have to hurry! I only have five more minutes. I guess I have to take a right at the next corner. Voice: Keep going straight and after seven feet, take a left. Actor: (Talking to the navigation system in his hand) What do you know? Ive been that way before! I just know that somewhere around here I have to take a right. (Walks off the stage and makes a right turn) Voice: You have made a wrong turn. At the next possible turning point please make a U-turn. Actor: (Angry with the navigation system) You useless machine! Im not going to follow where youre leading me. What do you know anyway? Youre just a stupid computer thats probably outdated anyway! I know better than you about which is the best way to go. Teacher: Wow, what is going on here? Why are you so upset? Actor: This silly navigation system wants me to follow the way its leading me even though I am sure I have to go right. Whatever, Ill go the way I think is best. Teacher: Well, think about this. It knows about all the streets and even about traffic jams and accidents that happened along your route. This navigation system obviously knows something that you dont know, so I think you should just follow wherever it leads. Actor: Come on! Theres no traffic around here. Im going my way - this stupid thing is only leading me in circles! (Actor exits stage) Teacher: Some of you here are just like that guy with the navigation system. In your mind you know that God created you and therefore He knows what is best for you, but so many times you dont like the where He is leading you. You dont

want to follow where He leads because it is not the most popular way and its not the easiest path either. For example, think about when all of your school friends plan a sleepover to watch the latest horror movie with vampires and kinds of evil things in it that God hates. Right there you have a decision to make. You know that it would be a lot of fun to watch this movie together with all your friends. You know that everyone is going to talk about it for the next few weeks. But you also know that if you follow Gods way, you cant go and watch it with them because God does not want you to open your mind to things that are evil. Or what about when some kids in your class try to distract the lesson as much as possible just to show that they are too cool to listen. What are you going to do? You have to decide to either follow the way theyre leading and join in to be popular with them, or you follow the way God is leading you and respect your teachers to be popular with God. Sometimes it can be tough to follow where God leads but the thing is that God knows all things. He created you and He knows whats best for you. In the Bible He says, For I know the plans I have for youplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). God doesnt want to harm you, he wants to prosper you and give you a good future. He knows about all the ways He wants to bless you; He knows where He can lead you and what He can do with your life. But if you decide not to follow where He leads you will never be able to live that life. Its up to you. You can be like that guy with the navigation system who will definitely get lost; he will never reach his goal. Or you can decide to follow where God leads and see how He wants to prosper you and lead you to a hope and a future. God is the Creator and because He knows all things, you need to follow wherever He leads.

Object Lesson 2
Trust that He can fix all your problems Props Actors Preparatio n Tire

Presentation:

(Teacher walks out holding a tire) If you had a problem with your car, would you take it to your Math teacher to get it fixed? No of course not because your math teacher wouldnt know how to fix your car. What if you take it to the lady at the nail salon would she know how to fix your car? No that doesnt make any sense. Those people dont know anything about cars. Theres only one person you would take a car to and thats a mechanic! Thats because a mechanic knows all about cars and you trust that he can fix the problem (put the tire down). Now what about if you have a problem in your life? What if that letter comes in the mail that eviction notice letting you know you have to pack your things and leave? You have nowhere to go. That is a problem. What if your big brother who always used to take care of you is going to jail? That is a problem. What if your step-dad treats you differently because he loves his own kids more than you? That is a problem. But there is one person you can go to and trust to fix all your problems God. God is the Creator and He knows all things there is no problem that is too big for Him. In the Bible God says, I am the Lord, the God of all mankind, is anything too hard for me? No there is nothing too hard for God! Because Hes the Creator He knows exactly what your problem is and He knows exactly how to fix it. God knows how it makes you feel and He understands it. He sees all things and knows all things. Now its up to you to trust Him. Are you going to go before Him (kneel down) with your problem and say, God, Im confused and I dont know what to do. God Im lonely and it hurts. God Im frustrated. When you bring those problems before God, the God who knows all things, He will fix your problems. But you have to trust Him.

Life Lesson
Larry Laptop Props Music / Sound Effects Preparatio n Frame 1: (Teacher brings out laptop with a smiley face on the screen. Open it and place it on a table on the stage) Larry Laptop was just a little laptop inside the big Central Science Complex that his Creator owned. He worked at one of the science labs inside that Complex. Larry was not as big as all the other machines, but he had a very important task to fulfill. He was connected to one of the machines named Milly Mixer. His job was it to tell her how much of each chemical she needed to mix together. Larry knew that he was little, but that his Creator made him in a unique way. Frame 2: Every morning the Creator would take time to come inside the lab to remind all the computers and machines that they were His Creation. I am your Creator I know everything about you. If you have a problem, just come to me and I can fix you. I know everything ok? Now have a good day! Preaching Point: God is the Creator; He knows all things You heard what he said; he made them so he knows everything about them. Its exactly the same with you. God created you so He knows everything about you. There might be things that nobody knows about you youve never told anybody but God knows about it. He knows how you feel in your heart, He knows all the pain, and He knows all the thoughts in your head. He knows because He is your Creator, just like the Professor was Larrys Creator. Frame 3: Larry was busy working when out of nowhere he heard a voice, Hi! I am Nancy and I am new here. I am a brand new laptop. I am the fastest, I have all the new programs I am fast and fancy Nancy. Thats me. If you ever need help, just let me know. Right here I have a memory stick (teacher pull out memory stick from pocket). All you have to do is download it and you can be just like me. Oh, replied Larry, but the Professor Hahaha, Nancy cut him off. The Professor? Yeah right. He is like, 100 years old. He is old school what does he know? Trust me; I can fix your problem. So Larry walked away thinking about what Nancy said when all of a sudden, the alarm went off (Play alarm sound.) Frame 4: BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Milly Mixer was shaking. Oh no! This is all my fault, Larry thought, I should have listened to Nancy and downloaded that program. The Creator must have missed putting an installing an important part in me. What am I gonna do?! Larry started worrying so much that he forgot all about pushing the Laptop, memory stick, small table, brown box (big enough for the laptop to fit inside) Alarm sound, warning computer beeps (bad sounds)

emergency help button right beside him. Right when Larry thought that it was too late Frame 5: the Creator rushed in with His crew to fix what is wrong with Milly. It was a simple press of a few buttons and she was fine again. The Creator stopped and took a close look at Larry. Larry, I know how you feel, he said as he picked him up in his hands, but you need to know that this was not your fault. And you always need to remember that there is nothing that I cant fix - nothing. I am in control. I know all things, so you can stop wasting your time worrying. Frame 6: But instead of believing the Creator, Larry decided to take matters into his own hands. He took all the boldness and courage he had and made his way to the basement. Nancy, are you down here? Larry called out sheepishly. Im over here! said Nancy, I knew you were coming. Just take this memory stick and your problem will be fixed. Preaching Point: Trust the He can fix all of your problems For some of you that might sound a little familiar. We all have problems, but who do we go to? Some of you have problems at school with people picking on you but the first thing you do is tell your big brother and sister so they can sort it out. Or some of you have big problems at home with your parents fighting and yelling who do you go to? You go to your best friend and tell them about all the crazy things going on in your house. You think they can fix your problems but the Bible says, It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in men. Im not saying you can never trust people but it is better to go to God first because He knows you. He made you and He knows everything about you He can fix your problem. Frame 7: Larry tried to hide the stick behind his back as he made his way out of the basement and back into the lab. Now all I have to do is plug this in and I will be new and improved! Larry could barely wait to get back to his work station. Here it goes! (Plug memory stick into laptop) He started the download. (Play warning computer beeps) But something wasnt right. Instead of working faster Larry felt everything inside of him begin to shut down and he could see tons of little bugs start to come alive. Oh no, that wasnt a new program it was a virus! he exclaimed, What is going to happen to me? Another thought came to Larrys mind, I have to keep this a secret from the Creator... Frame 8: but before he could even finish that thought, two big hands grabbed hold of him and threw him in a dark box. (Close the laptop and put it in a cardboard box) They took him and carried him away. Whats happening? Im scared. I should have listened to my Creator! Im going to die! Frame 9: Finally the box came to a stop. Larry was terrified as someone lifted him out of the box. (Take laptop out and put it on the table again) He was too scared to open his eyes. Theyre gonna trash me. I should have listened. Frame 10: But when he looked up, he realized he was looking straight into the eyes of his Creator. I told you to come to me! I can fix your problem, the Professor said. Do you know what he did? He pressed a few keys (press a few keys on the keyboard) and Larry could go back to work.

Point of Decision
He should have gone to the Professor in the first place. Thats what you need to do. Dont run to all these people with your problems you need to run to God first. Does anybody have a problem at school or at home? We all have problems, right? I want you to bow your head and close your eyes and tell God about your problem. Its very simple. Say, God my parents fight all the time. God I cant handle school. God Im having problems at home. Just talk to Him. Good. How many of you can do that at home?

Closing Prayer
Dear God, thank you that you created me just the way I am. Thank you that you know everything about me. Today I come to you with my problem. You know what it is and I know you can fix it. Please help me God. Help me to come to you every time I have a problem. I love you, in Jesus name, amen.
