Treasure Island Objectives Chapter assigned: 20 OBJECTIVE 1:

Students will be able to write a list of vocabulary from chapter 20. Students will write at least 5 words with their meaning and the sentence wherein that word appeared in the chapter. Students should complete the task within 30 minutes with no more than 3 misspelling outside of class. Demonstration of mastery of objective: 1. Embassy: A mission abroad undertaken officially especially by an ambassador. Silvers Embassy. 2. Lieutenant: An aide or representative of another in the performance of duty. Treacherous: Marked by hidden dangers, hazards, or perils. The captain was in the porch, protected from a treacherous shot should any be intended. 4. Vigor: Active bodily or mental strength or force. He advanced to the stockade, threw over his crutch, got a leg up, and with great vigor and skill climbed the fence and dropped safely to the other side. 5. Wrath: Strong vengeful anger or indignation. Silvers eyes filled with wrath. Explain the following about this objective:
1. Why it is a good objective for a Chilean English classroom?

It is a good objective because Chilean students will increase their vocabulary. Also students will have a cultural exchange of vocabulary of the English language and their mother tongue. 2. The actor/audience targeted by the objective: This objective is appropriate for high school students with an ALTE level 2.

3. The behavior/learning to be achieved:

Achieving this objective the students will increase their vocabulary and can use those words in any other context.
4. The conditions under which the learning will take place (how much time will be needed

for the student to achieve the objective): The reading of the book must be outside of class. Students should complete the exercise within 30 minutes outside of class. Students will need a dictionary for the search of the meaning of the words. 5. What degree of accuracy must be obtained: Students should write at least 5 words from the chapter with no more than 3 errors in spelling.
