All residents are encourage to lead an independent life and the aim is to provide motivation and rehabilitation for each individual, helping them to achieve an active, sociable life, with any special interests being encouraged by an activity assistant. PLAS BRIDELL MANOR NURSING HOME, Bridell Cardigan specialises in the care of dementia sufferers. It is part of Ashberry Healthcare Ltd, which is owned by Paul Sednaoui, who has has been involved in the nursing home business since 1989. The director of care and group care manager is Diane Parrish, who has a background in nursing, teaching and research. During the last seven years, she has worked as a regional manager in domiciliary care with people with complex needs and as a registered manager in residential/nursing care homes. Plas Bridell is situated in a lovely rural location, just outside the market town of Cardigan. All carers receive a thorough ongoing training which includes dementia awareness and they are supported by a team of registered psychiatric nurses and registered CEREDIGION CARE AND REPAIR aims to help older people remain living at home safely, securely and with independence. It also aims to reduce falls, accidents and fires in and around the home, as well as tackling energy efficiency and affordable warmth. Last year, more than 300 older home owners had a safety check, looking at preventing falls by checking the safety of stairs, steps and, if required recommending handrails, grab rails and extra steps.
