I have been Lead RN for Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla California over the past four years. I am interested in redirecting my nursing career, while continuing to gain new experiences and knowledge in my nurse career. In addition to Interventional Radiology Nursing, I have been a U tilization Review RN Supervisor and a RN Medical Underwriter for Blue Shield of California. I am interested in opportunities to return to Utilization Review an d Case Management nursing, as well as other new experiences that may be availabl e. Qualifications: 2006 to date: Most recently, I have been the Clinical Registered Nurse, Lead for the Intervent ional/ Diagnostic Radiology Department at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California. I assumed the leadership role and responsibility for the managemen t and coordination of patient care within the Radiology Department. I have bee n responsible for implementation and integration of the nursing process through assignment and supervision of appropriate staff and in coordination and collabor ation with physicians. I functioned as the patient care unit expert, and I ser ved as a resource and provided direction to the members of the patient care team , including Registered Nurses, Radiology Technologists, and support personnel. I currently have 28 years experience as a Registered Nurse, with the past 20 yea rs being in Interventional Radiology, and the most recent 4 years as the Clinica l Registered Nurse, Lead, for the Radiology Department. . In addition to my supervisory role, I continued to work side by side with the Radiology Department nurses in assessing and monitoring patients undergoing inva sive procedures; administering IV moderate sedation per physician order; assist ing interventional radiologists in procedures including but not limited to angio graphy, angioplasty, stent placement, inferior vena cava filter placement, TIPSS procedures, biliary drainage procedures, nephrostomy catheterization procedures , neuro-Interventional procedures, including aneurysm coiling, embolization, and thrombolysis procedures, needle biopsy procedures, perm-cath central line dialy sis catheter placement procedures, establishing intravenous lines and medicating / monitoring patients throughout diagnostic imaging department, as required, in cluding MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, general x-ray, radiation oncology, C. T. scanners, interventional radiology Suites, and patient recovery area; dischar ging and transferring of patients, patient family and staff education: ordering and stocking of department supplies as required; constructing charts and pre-c alling and preparing patients for scheduled procedures, contacting outpatients, post procedure for quality of care surveys.

1984 to 1986 From 1984 to 1986 I was Charge Nurse, for Orthopedic Department, as well as Pedi atric Department, at Memorial Hospital in Modesto California. 1982 to 1984 While attending Nursing school from 1981 to 1984, I was an Orthopedic Technolog ist, providing casting, traction services to the Orthopedic Department at Memori al Hospital. I have also been a pediatric nurse early in my career.
