Peace be on you, O trusted guardian, appointed by Allah, to administer His earth,

assalaamu a'layka yaa ameenaallah fi arzehi

and to convince the mankind to Va hojatehi ala ebadeh accept His plan.

Peace be on you, O Ameer ul Moomineen;

assalaamu a'layka yaa ameeral moomineen

I testify that you made utmost efforts, as it should be, in the cause of Allah,

ash-hadu annaka jaahadta fillaahi h'aqqa jihaadihi

acted upon His Book,

wa a'milta bikitaabihi

followed the way of life of His Prophet, (blessings of Allah be on him and on his children ) ,

wattabaa'-ta sunana nabiyyihi s'allallaahu a'layhi wa aalihi

to the last moment of your life, h'atta da-a'akallahu ilaa until Allah invited you to come jiwaarihi faqabaz''aka unto Him, and used His ilayhi bi-ikhtiyaarihi discretion to take you away, and sealed your enemies' doom wa alzama aa'-daaa-ikal with the allegation that the h'ujjata ma-a' maalaka

 arguments had been made minal h'ujijal baalighati known to one and all through a'laa jamee-i' khalqihi you. O Allah let me be happy and satisfied with that which Thou allaahumma faj-a'l considers good for me, let me nafsee mutma-innatan agree with that which Thou biqadarika raaz''lyatan decides for me, let me biqaz''aaa-ika moule passionately remember Thee, atan bizekrika va doaek and invoke Thee, let me be in love with Thy pure muh'ibbatan lis'afwati and sincere friends, let me be awliyaaa-ika well-liked and respected on the mah'boobatan fee earth, and in the heavens, arz''ika wa samaaa-ika let me be unruffled and well s'aabiratan a'laa nuzoooli composed in the midst of balaaa-ika misfortunes, let me be unruffled and well s'aabiratan a'laa nuzoooli composed in the midst of balaaa-ika misfortunes, let me be gratefully thankful in shakiratan lifawaaz''ili prosperity, naa'-maaa-ika let- me ardently desire for the mushtaaqatan ilaa heart warming meeting with farh'ati liqaaa-ika Thee; let- me ardently desire for the mushtaaqatan ilaa heart warming meeting with farh'ati liqaaa-ika Thee;
well-equipped with piety to gain my end on the Day of Requital, let me follow into the footsteps mutazawwidatat taqwaa liyawmi jazaaa-ika mustannatan bisunani

of Thy representatives, let me disassociate myself from the mannerism of Thy enemies,

awliyaaa-ika mufaariqatan li-akhlaaqi aa'-daaa-ika

let me pass my time, in this world, by praising and glorifying Thee.

mashghoolatan a'nid dunyaa bih'amdika wa thanaaa-ika

O Allah, verily, the hearts of those who surrender to Thee, are full of passionate love,

allaahummaa innaquloobal mukhbiteena ilayka waalihatun

the path of those, who long for Thee, is wa subular raaghibeena the straight (true) road, ilayka shaari-a'tun

the instructions given by those, who lean on Thee, are distinct and precise,

wa aa'-laamal qaas'ideena ilayka waaz''ih;atun

the minds of those, who are aware of Thy reality, are filled with awe and reverence,

wa af-idatal a'arifeena minka faazi-a'tun

the call of those, who invite unto Thee, wa as'waatad daa-e'ena is loud and clear, ilayka s'aa-i'datun wa abwaabal ijaabati lahum mufattah'atun

and the doors of approval are kept open for them;

whoso submits his supplication to Thee receives a favourable answer,

wa daa'-wata man naajaaka mustajaaabatun wa tawbata man naaba ilayka maqboolatun

whoso turns repentant unto Thee gets acceptance (amnesty),


whoso bursts into tears in fear of Thy punishment obtains mercy, wa a'brata man bakaa min khawfika marh'oomatun

whoso asks for Thy help procures the wal i-a'anata limanis ta- aid as a gift. a'ana bika mabd'oolatun Thy promise made with Thy servants is wa i'daatika li-i'baadika fulfilled; munjazatun whoso asks for pardon of his errors wa zalala manis-taqaalaka finds them reduced to nothing, muqaalatun whoso does everything for Thysake wa aa'-maalal aa'mileena discovers that each and every deed has ladayka mah'fooz'atun been preserved. The means of livelihood available to wa arzaaqaka ilal the created beings come from Thee like khalaaa-iqimin ladunka a rainfall, and in addition many recurring favours naazilatun wa a'waaa-idal and bounties reach them in regular mazeedi ilayhim waas'ilatun successions, wa du'unoobal the sins of those, who ask for mustaghafireena forgiveness, are overlooked, maghfooratun the wants and needs of all that which wa h'awaaa-ija khalqika has been created by Thee are properly i'ndaka maqz''iyyatun satisfied, those who put forward genuine wajawaaa-izas saa-ileena
whoso seeks redress from Thee finds the required assistance at his disposal, wal ighaathata limanistaghaatha bika mawjoodatun

demands get more than they ask for, one after the other, again and again;

i'ndaka muwaffaratun wa a'waa-idal mazeedi mutawaatiratun

for the hungry wholesome food is arranged,

wa mawaaa-idal mustat'i'meena mu-a'ddatun

for the thirsty clean water is available in wa manaahulaz'z'imaa-i mutraabundance. a'tun

O Allah give favourable answer to my allahumma fas-tajib duprayer, acknowledge the praise I sing in a'aa-ee waqbal thanaaworship, let there be peace and ee waj-maa'-baynee wa harmony between me and my friends, bayna awliyaaa-ee

for the sake of Muhammad, Ali, Fatimah, Hasan and Husayn;

bih'aqqi muh'ammadin wa a'liyyin wa faati'mata wal h'asani wal h'usayn

verily, Thou art my Benefactor who provides with bounties, the aim of my desires, the ultimate destination of my hopes, in my future life, and during this short life.

innaka waliyyu naa'maaa-ee wa muntahaa munaaya wa ghaayatu rajaaa-ee fee munqalabee wa mathwaaya

Thou art my God, my Master and my anta ilaahee wa sayyidee Lord; wa mawlaaya


aghfir li-awliyaaa-inaa wa welcome my friends, keep our enemies kuffa a'nnaa aa'-daaaaway from us; anaa

to save us from the evil mischief divert their attention,

washghalhum a'n ad'aanaa

let the "true Word" come out in the wa az'hir kalimatal h'aqq wajopen, supreme and dominant, refute and a'lhal u'lyaa wa adh'iz'' condemn the "foullie", rendered kalimatal baatil wa ajaalaha contemptible, verily, Thou art able to s'sifli inna ka alaa kulli shay do all things. een kadeer

1. It is recommended to take bath early in the day for purification. 2. Observe fast on this day.3. Recite Ziarat-e-Ameenallah and Ziarat-eMutliqah 4. Recite Dua'a-e-Nudbah 5. Offer 2 rakaat prayer of Eid-e-Ghadeer before mid-day. In each Rakaat after Sura Hamd recite 10 times Sura Ahad (Qul ho Allah ho Ahad), 10 times Sura Qadr (Inna anzalna ho fi lailat-il-Qadr) and 10 times Ayat alKursi. This prayer is highly rewarding and whatever dua is asked for from Allah(swt), inshallah, will be granted. It is recommended to recite this prayer closer to but before mid-day since that was the time when Prophet Mohammad(pbuh&hf) announced the successorship and nomination of Imam Ali(a.s.) as master of the faithfuls. After the prayers go into prostration and recite: 100 times "Shukran Lillah" and 100 times " Alhamd-o-lillah". Imam Jaffer Sadiq(a.s.) says that whoever does so will be like a person who accepted the Imamate and Caliphate of Imam Ali(a.s.) and pledged allegiance at the Ghadeer-e-Khum in front of Prophet Mohammad(pbuh&hf). The person who performs this act will also like those who will be with the Imam-e-Zamana(a.s.) under his flag. 6. It is customary among the followers of Ahl-e-Bait(a.s.) to greet each other on this day and shake their hands and say to each other the following : "Akhaituka fil lah-e wa safetoka fil lah-e wa safahtoka fil lah-e wa aahad tullah-a wa malaekatahu wa kutubahu wa rusulahu wa ambiyauhu wa aaimmatul ma'soomeena alaihumus salam ala anni in kuntu min ahlil jannati wash shafa'ate wa oozina lee be an adkhulal jannah la adkhulaha illa wa anta ma ee aa". As well as:

ALH'AMDU LILLAAHILLAD'EE JA-A'LANAA MINAL MUTAMASSIKEENA BIWILAAYATI AMEERIL MOOMINEENA WAL A-IMMATI A'LAYHIMUS SALAAM [Praise be to Allah, who blessed us to be among -those who cling and hold to the "Wilayaat" (love, friendship and authority) of Ameer Al Momineen and all the Imams, peace be on them all.] The other momin/momina should also greet him/her saying: "Asqat tu anka jame'ah haqooq-il ukhuwate ma khalad dua-e waz ziarat-e wash shafa-ah" As well as :


ALH'AMDU LILLAAHIL LAD'EE AKRAMNAA BIHAAD'AL YAWME JA-A'LANAA MINAL MOOFEENA BI-A'HDIHl ILAYNAA WA MEETHAAQIHIL LAD'EE ATHAQANAA BIHI MIN WILAAYATI WULAATI AMRIHI WAL QUWWAAMI BIQISTEHI WA LAM YAJ-A'LNAA MINAL JAAHEDEENA WAL MUKAD'D'IBEENA BIYAWMID DEEN [Praise be to Allah who honoured us with this day, and included us among those who have been given all that which was promised to them, and have been tied together with the bonds of contract to have full confidence in the authority of the guardians of the religious laws who established justice; and did not disgrace us to be among those who know better but deny the truth and treat the Day of Judgement as a false fable.] 7. Recite 100 times :

ALH'AMDU LILLAAHILLAD'EE JA-A'LA KAMAALA DEENIHI WA TAMAAMA NIA'-MATIHI BIWALAAYATI AMEERIL MOOMINEENA ALIYYIBNA ABEE T'AALIB A'LAYHISSALAAM [Praise be to Allah, who had perfected His religion and completed His favour with the establishment of Ali ibn Abi Talib's authority, peace be on him.]
