PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 1999 - Present * Maryville, TN General Manager - HODGE PROPERTIES & HODGE CONSTRUCTION Directed the start-up and oversee the successful operations and leadership direction for this residential real estate development, construction, and property management company with responsibility for project management, strategic planning, business administration, financial administration, and property supervision. * Planned and directed the development and all aspects of project management for 11 different residential subdivisions in East Tennessee ranging from 6 acres to 70 acres with 18 to 42 homes per location. * Negotiated and closed the purchase contracts, secured financing, arranged for environmental inspections of the raw land, determined potential profitability of development, and presented plans to the local government for approval. * Contracted with local architectural and surveying firms to prepare the plans and construction documents needed to solicit bids

for all aspects of the civil construction. * Selected the most qualified and cost efficient contractors for civil construction, roads, excavating, sewer and utilities. * Hired general contractor to build the initial "spec" houses and hired real estate agents to sell and market properties. * Additionally responsible for property management for two retail shopping centers and an office building with 29 tenants; responsible for coordinating maintenance, tenant relations and financial management. 1982 - 2007 * Maryville, TN General Manager - HODGE MARKETS Started and managed the expansion, success and profitability of this independently owned convenience store business that capitalized on under served markets. Directed all aspects of operations including start up of new locations, acquisition of new stores, manager development, and business initiatives to maximize sales and profit growth at all locations. * Started this multi-unit convenience store, fuel and deli business with the opening of Pride of the Southland Market and TEXACO station as the first location in 1982. * Continued the company's expansion by purchasing the Rocky Top Quick Stop in 1993 and then updated/expanded the location which doubled the size and later negotiated and closed the deal to brand the location with Shell Oil. * Built a new Rocky Top Quick Stop in 1997 in South Maryville with a deli and Shell Oil station; increased revenues at this "flagship" location to $5.0 million in sales and sold the business in 2000. * Leased and managed an independent convenience store in Greenback, TN in 1995 to 1998. * Managed all four locations with approximately 50 employees and four managers; responsible for all financial management, banking, purchases, and proft/loss at all stores with total annual revenues of $12 million. * Hired, trained and held manager meetings, outlined goals for each location, held managers accountable for achieving objectives, and provided the leadership direction to ensure attainment of sales growth and profit expectations.
