Prologue

Throughout the history of mankind, there has always been a battle between light versus darkness. During the Great Battle, God cast all of the angels from the heavens that turned against him; and he deemed them the fallen angels. The leader of these fallen angles was Lucifer who built his own evil empire upon the earth and into his own dimension called the Underworld. But God has his own followers who follow the light to righteousness. In the mist of darkness, the fallen angels lingered in the shadows in search for the perfect opportunity to start an evil force to work against the humans whom God loves so much. The followers of the light are Gods warriors. They fight off the dark spirits who constantly attack and seek to destroy the true good in the world. Lucifer sent his dark army to continue the evil flames of war. He seeks to find the most evil human of all. Then there was a day in which he found him. His name was Joel Larose. Once Lucifer gradually consumed his soul he became known as Darc Landor. According to the golden prophecy of the wise gatekeepers, there are three who possess the true powers of the foreshadowers and once the three unite, their powers will become much stronger. Each foreshadower is the keeper of one of the three sacred books that was originally one book, called The Book of Knowledge. The Book of Knowledge was written by Gods archangels and was overseen by God himself. The Book of Knowledge is split into three books. Each book has a seeker and they are destined to find each other and restore the light that has been engulfed by the violent and demonic force of the dark spirits. Darc Landor knows of this prophecy and does not want it to be fulfilled. He is in search of the foreshadowers, who may be his very own blood.

Chapter One
Joel LaRose was getting off from his job as a professor at Louisiana State University. He taught history and anthropology. He was also the assistant curator at the Museum of History. LaRose was a tall, dark, strong, Creole man in his late thirties. He was heading to the Museum of History since Dr. Solomon, the head curator, was putting together a new exhibit that just arrived; he wanted Joel to make sure every piece of artifact was accounted for. Dr. Solomon was at a conference in England, so he wanted Joel to head the exhibition. Later that evening, Joel arrived at the museum. Once he got there, his team prepped up to handle the ancient artifacts with care. They went into the archive room. The artifacts were ancient Egyptian. Joel was an expert in reading ancient hieroglyphics. There were two pieces of artifacts that did not quite belong; they came in two separate boxes and were addressed to him with no return address. Joel opened the box and inside was a gold chest. The chest had a strange ancient text that was difficult for him to decipher. So he put the unfamiliar piece aside to investigate later. The other box was a smaller package. Inside the package was an ancient book. The exterior of the book is dark brown with gold pages and weathered from age. There was an Egyptian cross with an eagle in the middle. On the outside he understood the language as ancient Egyptian. The title was, The Book of Legends. It continued by saying The foreshadowers shall rise and destroy the prince of the Underworld. The Egyptian cross and the eagle represent the Foreshadowers. The Egyptian cross is a hieroglyphic character that represents life. It signifies the union of heaven and earth. The eagle is the Native American symbol for courage. Joel spent several hours archiving each piece of artifacts with his assistants, Emily and Stephen. It was night time, Emily and Stephen packed up to get ready to go. Are you sure you dont want for us to stay here while you lock up? asked Emily as they were heading out the door. No I will be fine. Andy, the security guard is here so I will be just fine. All right Mr. LaRose, we will see you later. Joel continued finishing up his paperwork in his office. Suddenly he heard a faint whisper. It sounded like it was calling for him. He heard the voice again. It was an evil, sinister, masculine voice.

With trembling hands, he pulled out his handkerchief. He took off his glasses and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Come here Joel. He looked up and in the doorway he saw a demonic little boy dressed in ancient Egyptian attire. His eyes were pit black and his teeth were razor sharp. Within a blink of an eye, the demon child was right in front of Joel and was staring into Joels eyes with dark pools for eyes. His eyes reflected no light. The demon childs icy cold stare put Joel into a deep trance. Follow me! ordered the demon child showing off his razor sharp teeth. Meanwhile The Book of Legends began to glow. The ancient book was summoned by the light keepers right before the demon child came into the room. Joel followed the evil spirit to the archives rooms. He heard several voices chanting loudly in an unknown ancient language. The room began to shake and the lights began to flicker on and off. Open the chest! demanded the demon child. The security guard came in when he heard the racket. His mouth flew open when he saw what was taking place. Mr. LaRose, are you ok? The demonic child looked at the security guard with anger. With his mind, he picked up the chair and desk and threw it at Andy but missed. Leave now or else you will die! ordered the evil spirit as his hissed and show his knifelike teeth. The security guard started to shooting at him with his gun. The gun shots simply annoyed the demonic child and did no damage. You fool! the demon child sneered. So with his mind he pulled two wires from the ceiling and wrapped it around Andys neck pulling him up in the air. Andy was dangling from the ceiling and gasping for air. He was fighting for air, trying to get the wires from his neck until he could no longer breathe. Andy went limp. The demon child opened his mouth as he sucked Andys life force from his body. The demonic child then refocused back on Joel Open the chest now! he ordered. The demon child forced Joel with his mind to open the chest. A dark cloud of smoke and evil spirit shot out of the chest, began attacking Joel, and entered into his body, tearing into his flesh. Joel screamed in excruciating pain. The demon child let out an evil laugh as Lucifers plan for the Underworld was beginning to take form.
