Buyer, Automotive Batteries and Wheels(Sears) 1997-2001 Responsible for all vendor negotiations, product assortments, pricing, marketing plans, forecasting and sales for automotive batteries ($445M in sales and 7.8M in units), import wheels, cartop carriers, battery chargers, direct importing of over-the-counter items (emergency kits, floor mats, etc.). Sears commanded 60% of custom wheels being imported from China to the United Sta tes. * One of three team leaders at Sears who helped develop a new supply chain metho d that created a unified distribution network between Sears and the tire manufac turers. WESTERN AUTO SUPPLY CO, Kansas City, MO 1991-1996 Director/Manager, Inventory Control Managed all tire negotiations that were not manufacturer direct as well as all w heels, valve stems and wheel weight programs. These programs supported three (3) different retail formats (NTW, Tire America & Western Auto). Expanded the impor t wheel program with enhanced selection/quality and cost. * Forecast analyst for all tire and wheel purchases. * Managed all special projects for the tire buying group. * Established a very effective network of wholesale distributors to supply three (3) different retail formats. * Transformed the PBL import wheel program from a poor quality line to a high qu ality, low cost profitable entity.
