VOL. 4 ISSUE 16
As the second week of the semester begins, we hope you find yourselves settling in to the new routine This Wednesday, January 18th, the Honors Student Advisory Council will be meeting to discuss this semesters events and activities. On Saturday, January 21st, the Honors Club will be co-sponsoring Service Saturday with Campus Corps and the History Club. We will be going out to local group homes, and playing games with the residents there. Please join us at 9:30am in the SUB Atrium for some breakfast refreshments, after which we will depart for the group homes. Honors will be sponsoring a Kick-A-Thon on January 23rd. MSU Billings student Aaron Rose is looking forward to competing in taekwondo at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas this February. The Kick-AThon will feature Aaron demonstrating board breaking and several other Taekwondo demonstrations. Please come out and support the Honors Club, and Aaron Rose as he prepares for this incredible opportunity! All are welcome to attend.

Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.
~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
SATURDAY: Service Saturday (Sponsored by Honors Club) 9:30a - Atrium Mens Basketball vs. Seattle Pacific 7p Alterowitz Gym SUNDAY: No events planned.
There is room in the Honors section of Writing 201 in which Valerie Hemingway, who served as Ernest Hemingway's last assistant, will co-teach. She will help us to explore some of Hemingway's writings: The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, and selected short stories. While Hemingway will provide the content focus of the course, there will be lots of options for doing one's research paper. Valerie provides a personal glimpse at historical happenings that continue to affect us, for example, the Cuban Revolution and Fidel Castro's visit to Hemingway.
