Objective: To use my extensive experience in IT Service Management to help compa nies through the day-to-day operations of designing services or developing and i mproving the services to meet business needs. Executive Summary: I am a highly experienced creative problem solver motivated b y a passion for lean operations. My experience with cross-functional teams showc ases my leadership, communication, and organizational skills. I have conducted a nalyses and estimates to strategize economic recommendations. Skills ITIL v3 Foundation Certified Strategic Technology Planning Strategic Business Planning System Engineering Project Management Operations Research and Management Leadership Lean Manufacturing Product Development and Support Professional Experience * Oracle Corporation was seeking ways to economize the Sun Microsystems infrastr ucture. I analyzed the difference between the backup strategies of the two comp anies. The analysis showed that implementing a strategy to do disk-to-disk backu p at an alternate location eliminated the need for tape libraries, tape storage, offsite storage and associated equipment contracts. I documented this solution and presented it for consideration. The recommendation to change the backup stra tegy would eliminate the need for an offsite storage vendor and reduce maintenan ce contract costs saving the company over $300K annually. * I was asked to consult on a network upgrade project at Sun Microsystem`s Fremo nt facility. I estimated the additional network bandwidth based on business req uirements that included additional ports, increased network traffic, and future growth estimates. I conducted an onsite inspection of the existing network and equipment. I obtained the business unit requirements and developed a network str ategy to meet those requirements. After implementation, the increased network ca pability allowed the business unit to increase the output of custom-built custom er equipment. This resulted in a quicker payment turn around from customers. * Sun Microsystems was looking for ways to economize its IT infrastructure. I o rganized a search for unused and under utilized equipment in the Bay Area. I ret ired over 400 pieces of equipment. I then documented the procedure to properly r etire equipment for global implementation. The result was a savings of over $300 K annually in power, maintenance contracts, cooling, and support. * I consulted for a winery to increase solid separation equipment Overall Equipm ent Efficiency (OEE). I followed the Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing DMAIC process. I conducted cross-functional meetings with the equipment crew, line crew and wi ne makers; to obtain and document equipment and cellar constraints, as well as, wine maker requirements. The problem was defined to be wait time on line-ups. Me asurements were cataloged with data from the previous season, as well as the gro wer estimates for the upcoming season. After analyzing tank requirements and har vest times, a tank scheduling improvement plan was created for recommendation. T raining and tracking controls were put into place to ensure attainment to plan, which was expected to yield an increase from 41.2% to 42.1% OEE for the SC150 eq uipment. After the season, the actual resulting OEE increase was 4.5%, or a $4.4 M cost avoidance.
