INTRODUCTION

Sugar is a substance obtained from sugar cane and sugar beet consisting essentially of sucrose and used as sweetener in food and drink. Today there are various private and the public sector mills are being running in the country. Indian sugar industry is one of the main drivers of the country's rural economy supporting its agricultural growth .The Indian sugar industry also occupies a significant place in the global sugar industry being the second largest producer of the commodity in the world. The sugar industry's has significant social and economic impact for the nation as well. And in consumption of sugar India ranks first globally. The sugar which is exported is all depends on the criteria of the EXIM policy of India. Sugar, because of its simpler chemical structure, was once assumed (without scientific research) to raise blood glucose levels more quickly than starch, but results from more than twenty studies demonstrate that sugar and starch cause blood glucose to rise at similar rates. This finding showed that controlling all carbohydrates is necessary for controlling blood glucose levels in diabetics, the idea behind carbohydrate counting. Many experts believe that eating too much sugar does not cause diabetes, although excessive calories from sugar can lead to obesity, which may increase the risk of diabetes. However, a 2010 meta-analysis of eleven studies involving 310,819 participants and 15,043 cases of type 2 diabetesfound that "SSBs [sugar-sweetened beverages] may increase the risk of metabolic syndrome and

type 2 diabetes not only through obesity but also by increasing dietary glycemic load, leading to insulin resistance, -cell dysfunction, and inflammation.

SUGAR EXPORT
Indian Sugar Exim Corporation Limited (ISEC), a premier sugar exporter of India, was formed in 1969 by the two apex bodies of the sugar industry. National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited (NFCSF), and Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA), representing the factories in cooperative and private sectors, for undertaking export of sugar and its products, thus enjoying a representative character for Indian sugar industry as a whole.
The production of sugar in India from last seven years is shown as below in tablefrom 2003-04 to 2009-10.

CRYSTAL SUGAR:-crystal sugar is the solid
form of sugars which are made in the form of solid with the help of machinery dye from the semisolid sugar

RAW SUGAR:

-Rawsugar is cane sugar which

has been minimally processed. Adherents to a raw food diet, for example, may have very specific definitions which involve temperature and handling, while others may view any sort of lightly refined sugar as rawsugar. In all cases, rawsugar is the product of the first stage of the cane sugar refining process, and as a result it has some very distinctive characteristics.

These are the sugars which are mostly exported not only from India

but also from various part of the world in the global market of sugar.

STRATERGIES FOR INCRESING THE EXPORT

Sugar is unorganized business in which sugar mills are being owned by 2007politicians and the new players like shri 08 Renuka sugars and Bajaj confectionaries 2008is trying to make the market organized. 09 As the population of India is ranked 200910 second in the world which shows that the consumption of the commodities of India is also increasing and that is why the

production of India is needed to be increased and for which new technologies are needed to be implemented and hybrid crops are to be grown . Focusing more on the export then the competitive price of the other country sates should be consider and try to sell the product at fewer prices and make a distinct position in the global market of export.

CONCLUSION
As before the production of the sugar was high the exports were also at peak as from 2003-04 to 2007-08 and after that when recession hit the country the production of the sugar drop down which ultimately leads to the decrease of the sugar export from 2008-09, then when the financial condition of the country was rising the production as well as the export of sugar has increase but at the same time the consumption of the sugar increased. And today India is standing at 2nd position in export of sugar globally and stands first in sugar consumption.
