Montalvo Appoints Nancy Glaze as Interim Executive Director

SARATOGA, Calif. – Montalvo Arts Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy Glaze as
Interim Executive Director starting November 10. Glaze will provide organizational leadership and
operational oversight for Montalvo as the organization conducts a search for a permanent Executive
Director. She was previously the Arts Program Director at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation and
brings a long-standing familiarity with Montalvo’s history and arts programming to this position.

Montalvo’s previous Executive Director, Robert Sain, resigned in September. Sain spearheaded Montalvo’s
adoption of a new artistic mission that defined the organization as a regionally significant contemporary
arts center. In her capacity as Interim Executive Director, Glaze will work with Montalvo trustees, staff
and consulting firm AlbertHall&Associates to establish a sustainable business plan for the organization.

Montalvo’s Board president, Charmaine Warmenhoven stated, “Nancy will be an asset to our organization
as we move through this transitional time, helping us stabilize our financial model through a balanced arts
program, while providing an experienced arts organization perspective and leadership to our staff and
board.”

Nancy holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and education from the University of Puget
Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Nancy is coauthor, with Dr. Thomas Wolf, of And the Band Stopped
Playing…The Rise and Fall of the San Jose Symphony. She is on the Executive Committee for Americans
for Arts and is a Board member for the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art.
