CLIMATE CHANGE
Mexico has set out as an indicative or aspirational target, a reduction of 50% in its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, compared with the volume emitted in 2000. In doing so, Mexico aspires to contribute to a potential stabilization of atmospheric GHG concentrations at a level not exceeding 450 parts per million of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), compatible with limiting the Earths average temperature increase to between 2 and 3C, and a flexible convergence towards global average per capita emissions of 2.8 tons of CO2e, in 2050.
