SAFETY SYSTEM Safe Load Indicator Provides radius and hook load indication with visual indication of approach to overload and visual and audible indication of overload condition. Motion Cut Equipment Operated by the Safe Load Indicator, cuts derricking out, telescoping out and hoist motion when overload condition is reached. Additional to visual and audible indication in operator's cab. Limit Switch Pendant overhoist limit switch at boom head and/or lattice extension. Operator's Cab Mounted on superstructure totally enclosed, steel construction, full vision cab. Lockable door, interior light and horn. Ergonomically designed cab and control layout with adjustable seat. Crane Controls Individual levers for independent or simultaneous operation of crane motions, electric rocker switch for control of hydraulic outriggers. Travel Controls Steering wheel operates orbitrol unit to control the front axle. Steering column adjustable for optimum driving/operating position. Gearshift mounted on steering column. Service and parking brake controls. Instrumentation Gauges for engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, brake air pressure, engine hourmeter and voltmeter. Warning lights for alternator, low air pressure, parking brake and direction indicator. OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Telescopic Boom 8.50m to 14.70m centres, 2 Section, fully powered by means of single double-acting hydraulic ram. Lattice Extension 8.0 m centres swing around easy erected lattice boom extension to give maximum combination of 29.20 m. Flood Light Fitted to head of boom root section, or boom head when reeling drum fitted.

Carrier Specification

Superstructure Frame Fabricated from high tensile steel plates and sections. Mechanical superstructure lock. Boom Derricking System Single double-acting hydraulic ram mounted on large diameter bushes. Fitted with hydraulic lock and counterbalance valve to prevent ram collapse in event of hydraulic failure and provide positively controlled derricking out. Boom Angle Max. 76, Min. (-)2 Derricking Speed Max. to min. radius 45 secs. (unladen) Slew System Gear type hydraulic motor driving a pinion through double reduction gear unit. Pinion meshes with slew ring 360 smooth and continuous rotation on either side. Slew Brake Spring applied hydraulically released multi-plate brake. Slew Speed Limited to 2.0 rpm (unladen) for controlled operation. Slew Ring Internal rack slew ring grease packed and sealed for long life Hoist System Gear type hydraulic motor driving hoist barrel via reduction gear unit. Fitted with counterbalance valve for controlled lowering of load. 13 mm dia non-spin hoist rope. Hoist Brake Spring applied hydraulically released multi-plate brake Line Speed Top Layer 65m/min. (unladen) Telescoping Boom Fabricated from high tensile steel plates with internal and external weld, adjustable & easily replaceable nylon wear pads. Hydraulic lock and counterbalance valve. 8.80 m to 21.20 m centres, 3 Section, fully powered, fully synchronised boom to ensure proportional telescoping of boom sections under single position control.

Carrier Frame Heavy duty welded steel structure with integral outrigger housings. Outriggers Four hydraulically operated "graded" outrigger beams with vertical hydraulic jacks fitted with lock valves. Vertical jacks fitted with removable stowable outrigger feet. Outrigger controls located in operator's cab. Independent control of all outriggers with individual beam and jack operation. Engine Suitable water-cooled diesel engine developing adequate horsepower. Transmission Engine mounted full powershift with 4 forward & 3 reverse speeds. Fuel Tank Capacity 164 litres. Hydraulic System Gear type hydraulic pumps driven direct from power-takeoff mounted on torque convertor. Hydraulic overload valve protects the system against excessive hydraulic oil pressure. Oil cooler maintains safe operating temperature of hydraulic system. Hydraulic Tank Capacity 200 litres AXLES Front (Drive & Steer) Solidly mounted to carrier frame. Rear Mounted on leaf spring and axle lock provided for freeon-wheel duty. BRAKES Service Foot operated compressed air over hydraulic brake on front axle and pneumatic brake on rear axle.

Parking Fail safe spring operated pneumatically released transmission brake. Wheels and Tyres 14.00 X 20 X 22 PR single pneumatic tyres on pressed steel discs fitted to both axles. Electrical Equipment 24 V starting and lighting including 2 dipping headlights, sidelights, rear and stop lights, flashing direction indicator. Turning Circle Dia 15m. (Outer Kerb) Axle Loading (3-sec Boom) Front- 10.2 tonnes Rear- 10.0 tonnes OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT Towing hook - to rear of carrier Spark arrestor Man carrying basket Fire extinguisher Spare wheel and tyre

Lifting Capacities - 3 Section Boom - 85% Rating

AP 418 (S)
MAXIMUM CAPACITY 20 TONNES Rated lifting capacities in tonnes Important Notes 1 All rated loads have been tested to and meet minimum requirements of IS 4573-1982 - Specification for Power Driven Mobile Cranes and do not exceed 85% of the tipping load on outriggers (85% of the tipping load on rubber) as determined by SAE J765 OCT80 Crane Stability Test Code. Capacities above thick line are based on factors other than stability, hence crane tipping should not be taken as sole guide to capacity limitation. Capacities shown in duty chart should not be derricked below 12 degrees boom angle. The weight of hookblock, slings and all similar load handling devices must be added to weight of load.

Height of Lift - 8.8M - 21.2M

3 SEC BOOM

Range Diagram (Unladen Boom)

Capacities quoted are based on freely suspended loads through 360 deg. slew arc with outriggers fully extended and vertical jacks down so that tyres are clear off the ground with machine level on firm, uniformly supporting surfaces or when operating free-on-wheels with machine standing on firm, level, uniformly supporting surface and tyres inflated to correct pressure. Angle based capacities are determined by Laden Boom Angle given and not by radius. Radii quoted refer to fully extended boom only. Over front capacities must only be lifted within a max. 2.5 on either side of crane centre line when operating "free-on-wheels". Practical safe working loads are dependent on supporting surface, wind and other factors affecting stability, hazardous surrounding, experience of personnel, handling of load, all of which to be considered. If lattice extn. is fitted in operating position main boom capacities must be reduced by 0.76 tonne.

Note : The above heights of lift are for multi-fall hookblocks on main boom and single-fall on lattice extension. Add 0.46m if single-fall block is used in place of multi-fall or deduct 0.46m if multi-fall is used in place of single-fall.

10 When lattice extn. is fitted boom must be fully retracted for boom angles less than those specified.
