Project Coordinators- Mr. Belur Sethuram(Business Leader) Mr. Jessu Joy(Application Technologist) Project Title-Evaluation and marketing of polyurethane based packaging adhesives Evaluated and Benchmarked a new developmental polyurethane based packaging adhesive and analyzed its market potential in India - Business impact (gross profits) of 15% per kg of product sold as compared to the running product Defined an action plan to determine the price and launch of this new product into the Indian Packaging Industry as a potential market leader in its category of solvent based packaging adhesives - Business impact (sales) of USD 3-4 million per year; implemented Conducted machine trials at the customers end to understand the products machinability and also interacted with clients to understand and troubleshoot problems Made a market data analysis for various existing competitor products both in the Indian as well as South- Asian markets Used VBA coding to extract historical price data of competitor products and used it to determine the optimum price of the product Project Coordinators- Prof. G. Harikrishnan (IIT Kharagpur) Prof. Christopher W. Macosko (University Of Minnesota) Project Title- Modeling of nano bubbles in foaming processes Simulation of growth and detachment of a nano bubble from polymeric melts during nano- composite foaming processes The project is based on using mathematical techniques to simulate nano bubble formation on nonnewtonian fluid surfaces Co-researchers under Prof. Christopher W. Macosko at the University of Minnesota would conduct experiments the results of which would be mathematically formulated Objective- Design the governing mathematical equations for the nucleation and growth of a nano bubble from polymeric surfaces and subsequently model the phenomena in MATLAB Project Coordinator- Dr. Rahul Banerjee (IIT Kharagpur) Project Title- Synthesis and structural analysis of Metal Organic Frameworks Synthesis of Metal Organic Frameworks(MOFs) embedded with Polyoxometalates and study their application in the field of heterogeneous catalysis Worked on simulation soft wares like 3DT and TOPOS and introduced the concept of 3D net structuring for the first time in my lab at NCL My work on these softwares has been published as a supporting information in a research paper published in the Journal of Royal Society of Chemistry (Citation- Chem. Commun., 2011, 47, 20112013)
