TheawardwinningDallasIndependentSchoolDistrictisseekingasuperintendent.Thedistrictisthe14thlargestschool districtinthecountrywithanenrollmentofover157,000studentsin225schoolswithmorethan20,000employees.It isalsohometothetoptwopublichighschoolsinthecountry.Theannualoperatingbudgetis1.47billiondollars. SUPERINTENDENTCANDIDATE Thecandidatemustpossessexceptionalleadershipskillstocontinuetoraisetheacademicbarforallstudents,continue toeliminatetheachievementgapwhileservingasanambassadorforthedistrictforthedistrictwiththeschool communityandthebroaderpublic.Theboardwillofferacompetitivecompensationpackage. ApplicationCriteria:

1. Thesuperintendentwillhaveatleast5yearsofadministrativeexperiencemanagingpeopleinaleadership position.TheboardpreferscandidateswhoarepreparedtomakealongtermcommitmenttotheDistrict, 2. Priorsuperintendentexperienceispreferredbuttheboardiswillingtoconsidernontraditionalcandidatesfor thisposition, 3. Avalidsuperintendentcertificateorappropriatecertificationorpermit, 4. SalaryrangeiscomparabletosimilarsizedistrictsandisnegotiablewiththeBoarddependingonexperienceand qualifications, 5. Candidatemustbewillingtomoveintotheschooldistrictasaresidentofthedistrict, 6. Aterminaldegreeinthecandidatesareaofexpertiseisdesirable.
