Rains Wont Stop In Center-West

There are reports of a slow soybean harvest in center-west due to too wet conditions, particularly in Mato Grosso (2% harvested). This wetness will continue for a while longer as rains remain centered across Mato Grosso and much of center-west. Meanwhile, net drying in Parana (2nd largest safrinha corn producer) will also continue.

Daily rainfall is slowing harvest in Mato Grosso, potentially intensifying disease and quality issues of their soybean crop, and slowing the planting of second safrinha corn and cotton. Once again, overnight rain and clouds covered the region.

Last year, only half the crop was planted by the end of the window. 40% of Brazils corn is from safrinha corn out of Mato Grosso. For Parana, the second greatest, safrinha producer, the planting window ends March 20th.
