What are the KD3000 Series Kustom DTS Foundation Surfacer/Sealers?

The foundation put under anything , a house, a sky scraper or a paint job is incredibly important. KD3000 Series Kustom DTS (Direct to Substrate) Foundation Surfacer/Sealer is a tri purpose product that can be used as a high or medium build primer surfacer, or as a sealer. It is formulated with a hybrid of epoxy and acrylic polymers, which provide excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance, productive dry times, and ease of sanding. These DTS surfacer/sealers emit very low amounts of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), Hazardous Air Polluting Solvents (HAPS), and contain no isocyanates. The KD3000 Series DTS surfacer/ sealers may be applied to the existing OEM finish, bare steel, aluminum, fiberglass, galvanized surfaces, and various plastics. Its tenacious adhesion, hi-build, excellent durability, and water and corrosion resistance and ease of sanding makes it a superior choice for the basis of a long lasting custom paint job. Simply stated, USC01 Kosmic Urethane Show Klear is the most robust klear House of Kolor has ever produced. Using state of the art polymer technology, we have developed a clear with excellent chemical, fuel, and water resistance, as well as the highest UV protection in the industry. USC01 also offers users excellent flow out, gloss and D.O.I. (Distinctness Of Image) after 48 hours. This klear is identified as a medium solids product (41%). It can be used on all size vehicles from large trucks to compact cars, resulting in the show-ready finish that House of Kolor users crave. We have also created the new AX02 Kosmic Kicker accelerator for use on motorcycles and small parts, resulting in higher production in your shop. USC01 Kosmic Urethane Show Klear is the ideal clear coat for you and your pursuit of excellence. USC01 Kosmic Show Klear meets all VOC rules and regulations, Coast to Coast, including California.

URETHANE KANDY KARRIER (UKK01)

UKK01 Urethane Kandy Karrier takes House of Kolor into the 21st century with state of the art polymer technology to produce a product that remains a solvent base system and meets the VOCs requirements coast to coast (including California). UKK01 can be applied as a medium solids Kandy (34% solids) or as a low solids Kandy (29% solids). Simply reduce and Catalyze the UKK01 and then add 2-4 ounces of any of House of Kolors KK Kandy Koncentrates to a ready to spray quart of UKK01 Urethane Kandy Karrier to produce the same vibrant Kandy Kolors as our current UK Kandys.

INTERCOAT (S2-SG100)
S2-SG100 Intercoat is an important tool for the custom painter. It is designed to be applied over a given base color, prior to taped art work or air brush art. This allows for easy removal of mis-tapes or air brush errors without damage to base color. We recommend KC20 as the only clean up solvent. The intercoat is also applied over art work to preserve blending and fogging of various colors before applying kandy or clear topcoats. S2-SG100 is a safety layer, allowing you to pause and continue your project later. S2-SG100 is not a build up clear or a top coat clear. Limit applied coats to 4, however, if used as a carrier for base coat kandys. When used as a carrier for pearls or flakes when reduction from standard 2:1 goes to 1:1, more coats are acceptable. S2-SG100 is also used to reduce strength of base coats for blending colors or for checking touch ups before top coat clears are applied. Considered a must over Marblizer before kandy or clear to guarantee adhesion. S2-SG100 Intercoat, as you can see, is an important workhorse for the painter! S2-SG100 is coast to coast VOC compliant, including California.

SILVER SEALER (SS01)

SS01 House of Kolor Silver Sealer is the only silver sealer in the automotive paint business. Considered a must under all metallic based colors for easy to spray even coverage of metallic basecoats. Fewer topcoats will be necessary for additional savings. Built from a Polyurethane resin system to provide tenacious adhesion and long term color hold out. Engineered to work over House of Kolors new KD3000 Direct to Substrate colored primer system, KP, KS, KD systems, and OE finishes. SS01 can also be custom tinted with up to 10% of Kandy Koncentrate for an even closer color match under Shimrin2 and original Shimrin basecoats and Kandy basecoats.

The primer is the foundation of any custom paint job. Because of the unique chemistry of our epoxies, our primers offer: Direct to metal, plastics, and fiberglass. Extreme flexibility that allows the finish to expand and contract when the metal is heated or cooled, and will not crack even when seriously dented. Tenacious adhesion that resists chipping from rock bruising or door dings. Fills up to 24 P grit scratches and offers outstanding sandability. Complete blockage of body filler bleedthrough at 2 mils of film build. Very high film build and easy sanding to improve productivity. In custom painting, sealers will save you time and money, and should never be considered OPTIONAL! They perform four critical functions: Improve the adhesion between the substrate and the base coat. Our Kosmic Reducers - RU310 Fast Dry, RU311 Medium Dry, RU312 Slow Dry, RU313 Very Slow Dry and RU300 VOC exempt (Fast to Medium) - are the only reducers we recommend for use with our House of Kolor System. Kosmic Long-Glo is a glow in the dark powder additive that can be mixed into any base or Klear. For exceptional results it is recommended that Long-Glo is applied over a white base. Kosmic Long-Glo is fantastic for use in airbrushing & detailing to add another dimension to your project at night. As with all glow in the dark products, Kosmic Long-Glo has a limited color fastness in the direct sun, so an overall project is not recommended. Use for small parts, graphics for a one-off cool look! RETARDER (RU315)

Designed for the Kosmic Kolor Urethane system to retard dry time in situations where this is deemed necessary, such as force drying. May be added to faster reducers to slow their dry time in emergency situations.

KRATOR ELIMINATOR (KE170)

An additive that corrects fisheye or crater defects. Works with lacquer, urethane, polyurethane, acrylic urethane, acrylic enamel, and other polymer coatings. A must have product for your paint shop. CAUTION: MAY NOT CORRECT MAJOR SILICONE CONTAMINATION.

We have a generous variety of colors even Kameleon color shift flakes. HOK Flakes are available in 5 flake sizes to create any look or finish. SPECIALTY PRODUCTS
AP01 is designed to use when top coating Polypropylene, TPO (Thermoplastic Polypropylene), Polypropylene/elastomer blends, other plastics, aluminum, steel, brass and other metals. Adhereto creates a bond between a substrate and a coating, or between a dried coating and a fresh (wet) one. This product is also useful when sanding situations are difficult. Adhereto is easy to use and dries in minutes. Ready to spray right out of the can (no reduction required). Product is clear in color.

HI-HEAT BLACK (HH04)

Hi-Heat Black is a fast-covering, great-looking, semi-gloss jet black finish that will endure 1400 F without flaking or discoloration. It is a great coating for engine parts or exhaust systems on cars, trucks, motorcycles, small engines, etc., where high temperatures are a concern. Hi-Heat Black comes ready-to-spray with no reduction required. Coated parts are dry enough to handle in one hour without baking.

Flattening Agent reduces the gloss of our polyurethane enamel topcoats and Klears. Flattening Agent will not affect adhesion or hardness. It is great for under carriages, frames and engine parts where you need a tough, durable finish and low gloss.
