Gavin Budby B.A.hons Gavin graduated in Canterbury last Friday. The culmination of many years work. Well Wishers We have had a very positive response to Well wishers please keep your pledges coming in. We launched our Well Wishers charitable giving in Church for the Well. On the welcome desk there is further information. Health Walks From The Well The next Health Walk from The Well is on Friday 17th February. The walks are fortnightly and start from The Well at 10.15 am on the 17th February, 2nd March and so on. Church Walking Group Tomorrow (6th February) we will be having our next Monday afternoon walk, meet at the Parish Church Rooms at 1pm. Our next day walk is this coming Saturday, 11th February. We will meet at the Parish Church Rooms at 9am as usual, and we are planning to walk from Hathersage in Derbyshire (6 to 7 miles with a shorter 5 mile option). Please let John & Kate know if you are coming on either of these walks (tel:223893). Bishop of Wakefield Lent Appeal 2012 Is to help set up microfinance in our link Dioceses in Tanzania. For more information please see the leaflet on the welcome desk. Deanery Synod Pray for the discussions taking place about the deployment of clergy on Wednesday evening. PCC The minutes from the finance meeting are in the pigeon holes. Rota The service rotas for March are in the pigeon holes.

PRAYER For healing for many in our congregation and beyond

Queens Diamond Jubilee Concert at the Cathedral Sunday 5th February at 6 pm. The Cathedral Choir perform music to celebrate this years Diamond Jubilee on the anniversary of the Queens accession to the throne including Zadok the Priest, Waltons Coronation Te Deum, Land of Hope and Glory and Jerusalem. Admission free. Wakefield Cathedral Big Jubilee Launch The Cathedral has teamed up with local Territorial Army groups to feed a thousand to mark the Big Jubilee Lunch on 3rd June with buskers, clowns, music, brass bands etc. The TA will tent the area outside the Cathedral and cook a BBQ lunch. The event starts with a service at 11.00 am followed by lunch and entertainment at 12.15 pm. 1,000 tickets available www.wakefieldcathedral.org.uk Churches Together Celebrate the Jubilee at St Johns Church. NOTICE BOARD

Once again we will be supporting the Real Easter Egg campaign. The egg will be in a new look box and inside there is a 8 page story book of the Easter story (please see example on the welcome desk). The cost is 3.99 per egg, order forms are on the welcome desk and all orders need to be placed by Sunday 12th February. Newsletter In an attempt to reduce costs we are experimenting by printing the newsletter in black and white. New Song Worship Over the next few weeks the worship team will be learning some new songs. To introduce them to the congregation we will be having a New Song Worship on the evening of February 26th at 6.30 pm. Mark it in your diary so that we can all learn them together, and if you want to test a calling to be in the worship team this would be a good introduction. Come along and Worship the Lord sing a new song.

Churches Together are holding a Lent course for all the churches in the Normanton & Altofts area. Each Tuesday night from the 28th Feb at 7.00. We will be hosting the first one here in church.
Ruth Radcliffe Memorial If anyone might wish to make a donation towards the memorial fund for Ruth (Julia Barklays daughter), contact John or Kate Penrose (tel:223893) for details. Donations going towards a well project in Mara and the Alder Hey Oncology Unit. Camp Meetings Now is the time to think about booking for Faith Camp and Grapevine to take advantage of early booking opportunities.
