Explanatory Notes For Fares

1. The fares will be same for all the distances within each distance slab. 2. Minimum distance for charge of 200 km. will not be applicable for the Sleeper coaches declared as unreserved coaches by Zonal Railways in notified trains and in specified sections. In such case actual fares as shown in the concerned column. 3. Under variable fare scheme, the basic fares for the newly designed high capacity coaches of different classes, wherever attached, shall be reduced as given below:Fee and Supplementary Charge for Superfast trains. Actual charges for catering services, as per the requirement of the journey would be added to the basic fares and the amount so arrived will be rounded off to the next higher multiple of Rs. 5/- Accordingly, the chargeable fares for Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains between a pair of stations may be different for journeys in Up and Down directions of the trains in some cases. The Development charge will be levied additionally as applicable. 7. The point-to-point fares for all pairs of stations including intermediate to intermediate stations for Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains shall be notified by the Zonal Railways. 8. The fares for Jan Shatabdi Express trains published in these tables are inclusive of Reservation Fee and Supplementary Charge for Superfast trains. The Development charge will be levied additionally as applicable. 9. The basic fares for Garib Rath Express trains published in these tables do not include Reservation Fee, Supplementary Charge for Superfast trains and Development charge, which will be levied additionally. Minimum distance for charge will be 100 kms for both classes of these trains. 10. Children under 5 years of age will be carried free of charge. Children of the age of 5 years and under 12 years of age will be charged half the adult fare, which will be rounded off to the next higher multiple of Rs. 5 in case of Jan-Shatabdi, Shatabdi and Rajdhani Express trains. For other trains, half the adult fare will be rounded off to the next higher rupee. 11. Children under 5 years of age will be provided food in Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express trains without any charge. 12. Bed-roll will be supplied to passenger in AC First Class, AC 2-Tier and AC 3-Tier Classes in all trains except Garib Rath Express trains without any additional charges. 13.Bed-roll in Garib Rath Express trains will be supplied to passengers on demand, on payment of stipulated charges. 14. Quarterly Seasons Tickets (QST) fares will be 2.7 times the Monthly Season Tickets (MST) fares. 15. Monthly Season Ticket (MST) fares published in these tables do not include the Development charge, which will be levied additionally as applicable. 16. Season Tickets beyond 150 km will be issued only over sections where this facility was being enjoyed prior to 1.4.1951.

3.1 Discount applicable during peak season shall be applicable to popular trains throughout the year. 3.2 AC First and AC 2-Tier fares for peak period shall be applicable to popular trains throughout the year. 4. Fares have been published in these tables for suburban, Nonsuburban. Super Fast, other than Super Fast - Peak and Lean seasons separately. 4.1 Suburban fares shall be levied for journeys performed in the suburban sections only. Non-suburban fares shall apply in all other journeys. 4.2 Peak and lean seasons shall be as under:Lean Seasons 1st February to 31st March and 1st August to 31st August Busy Seasons 1st April to 31st July and 1st September to 31st January 5. The fares for Ordinary, Mail/Express and AC Services, published in these tables, do not include other charges namely Reservation Fee, Supplementary charge for Superfast trains and the Development charge, which will be levied additionally as applicable. 6. The basic fares of Peak and Lean seasons for Rajdhani Express trains published in these tables are inclusive of Reservation
