MINUET french people- refined people with restraint movements. th 18 century- minuet considered as the principal dance of the court. King Louis XV- led the court balls where minuet was used as an opening dance. 1650- lively and carefree dance presented by the french court. Minuet Step- Starting with the R(L) foot, take 3 steps forward on the balls of the feet (cts, 123) point L(R) in front, and bring the heel of the R(L) foot down. Cts 123 Waltz Balance- Step R(L) in front (ct.1) close L(R) foot to R(L) and raise heels (ct 2). Lower heels with the weight of the body on the R(L) foot (ct 3). The knees are slightly bent before raising the heels. Step point- Step R(L) foot in front (ct 1) and point L(R) in front (cts 123).
