His experiencing malabsorption which means he didnt get the nutrients needed by the body. And his water intake is limited due to his edema on right lower leg. Analysis The desirable amount of fluid intake in adults ranges from 1500 to 3500 mL each 24 hours.(Carol Taylor, Carol Lillis and Priscilla LeMone, Fundamentals of Nursing 5th Edition, Chapter 46; Fluid, Electrolyte, and Acid-Base Balance pg. 1433) Protein containing foods are required in the diet to provide the essential amino acids and nitrogen required for growth and maintenance of body tissues. Adults need 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night to be able to function well. People who drink alcohol often find their disturbed. Alcohol disrupts REM sleep, although it may hasten the onset of sleep.
