What is the difference between a Pentium and a Celeron processor?

Here are the most important similarities and differences between the Pentium 4 and the Celeron chips coming out today: Core - The Celeron chip is based on a Pentium 4 core. Cache - Celeron chips have less cache memory than Pentium 4 chips do. A Celeron might have 128 kilobytes of L2 cache, while a Pentium 4 can have four times that. The amount of L2 cache memory can have a big effect on performance. Clock speed - Intel manufactures the Pentium 4 chips to run at a higher clock speed than Celeron chips. The fastest Pentium 4 might be 60 percent faster than the fastest Celeron. Bus speed - There are differences in the maximum bus speeds that the processors allow. Pentium 4s tend to be about 30 percent faster than Celerons.

Differences between FAT and NTFS

Should I format my device in FAT or NTFS?

FAT File Allocation Table is a primary computer file system for various operating systems, mostly DOS, including DRDOS, OpenDOS, freeDOS, MS-DOS, Microsoft Windows (up to and including Windows Me). FAT is also referred to as FAT12.

File system is a method for storing and organizing computer files and the data they contain to make it easy to find and access them. The chart below shows in what FAT system a device should be formatted

FAT1 FAT1 FAT3 2 6 2 Maximum volume size of device 32MB 2GB 2TB

NTFS NTFS is the standard file system of Windows NT, including its later versions Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008.

NTFS has several improvements over FAT such as improved support for metadata and the use of advanced data structures to improve performance, reliability, and disk space utilization, plus additional extensions such as security access control lists and file system journaling.

NOTE: Formatting the device as NTFS will make it unable to be written to on a MAC computer. Most MAC computers can read NTFS, but not write. Once the device is formatted as NTFS, you MUST use "Safely Remove Hardware".
