"A bureaucrat is the most despicable of men, though he is needed as vultures are needed, but one hardly admires vultures whom bureaucrats so strangely resemble. I have yet to meet a bureaucrat who was not petty, dull, almost witless, crafty or stupid, an oppressor or a thief, a holder of little authority in which he delights, as a boy delights in possessing a vicious dog. Who can trust such creatures?" ~ Cicero
nomination, would be a gross understatement. There are a few possibilities for Super Tuesday. One possibility is that a single candidate wins all of the Super Tuesday states - unlikely. The more likely scenario is that the states split. If that happens, the main focus will be on Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and GEORGIA. A sweep of these four states would be big. They represent 243 delegates - likely more than any one candidate will have heading into Super Tuesday. Even then, it is a long way from locking down the nomination. Then, beginning on Super Tuesday through March 10, there is the Wyoming caucus (29 delegates). Just four days after Super Tuesday, on March 10, 2012, there are caucuses in Guam (9 delegates), Kansas (40 delegates) and the Virgin Islands (9 delegates). On March 13, 2012, there are more southern primaries in Alabama (50 delegates) and Mississippi (40 delegates) and caucuses in Hawaii (20 delegates) and American Samoa (9 delegates). Then the pace really picks up. During the balance of March, there are 3 primaries. In April, there are 9 with the biggest prize being Texas with a whopping 155 delegates. In all, 484 delegates are selected in April. May has 7 primaries with June (and its 5 primaries) containing the biggest prize - California with another whopping number - 172 delegates. In all, 615 delegates get picked in May and June - over half the number needed for the nomination.. The last GOP primary is on June 26, 2012 in Utah. In 2008, the Democratic nomination contest between Senator Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton extended into June. It ended up being 'Super delegates' that put Senator Obama over the top. (Super delegates are delegates by status, like party chairs, not election.) Senator Clinton did not formally end her bid for the Democratic nomination until June 7, 2008 - four days after winning the South Dakota primary. It is always possible that there might not be a Republican nominee until the Republican National Convention. Insiders call this a 'brokered convention.' Basically, there are around 412 Super delegates (which means they could put a candidate over the top or decide to be kingmakers at the Convention). While cable news producers dream of a 'brokered convention,' it is very unlikely. Instead, look for the Super Tuesday states to set the stage for the GOP's 2012 nominee.
J. Randolph Evans Column No. 1106 (2/3/12) - UPDATED through Nevada Caucuses For all the 2012 GOP candidates, it is the math that makes securing the nomination so complicated. There will be 2,165 delegates to the Republican National Convention in August in Tampa, Florida. In order to win the Republican Nomination, a Presidential candidate must have 1,144 delegates. To put this in perspective, only 131 delegates (less than 10%) have been won. In fact, the candidate with the most delegates (former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney) has only 81 delegates. This seems rather amazing given all of the media attention so far. From the Iowa caucuses to the Florida primary to the Nevada caucuses seems like an eternity for most voters, yet there are still 45 more states (plus American territories) to go. Already, there have been more swings than the crazy boat ride at White Water park. Just when the media thinks things are sewn up, voters send the signal that they are not done yet. Between now and Super Tuesday, there will be four caucuses - Maine (24 delegates), Colorado (36 delegates), Minnesota (40 delegates) and Washington (43 delegates) - and two primaries, Arizona (29 delegates) and Michigan (30 delegates). These four caucuses (before being apportioned) decide just 143 delegates. The primaries decide just 59. The total is 202 delegates - if all the contests were winnertake all. With the single exception of Arizona, they are not. Instead, states apportion between the winner and the other candidates receiving votes. (To put it in context, if Governor Romney wins the 2012 caucuses by his 2008 margins, he has around 135 delegates). Basically, none of the candidates will have much more than about 200 delegates coming into Super Tuesday . That is less than 20% of the delegates needed to win the nomination. Then comes March 6, 2012 - Super Tuesday. Caucuses will be held in Alaska, Idaho, and North Dakota. Combined, those states pick 87 delegates. To put that number in context, Georgia alone picks 76 delegates. The other big GOP delegate prizes on Super Tuesday are Ohio (with 66 delegates); Tennessee (58 delegates); Virginia (49 delegates); Oklahoma (43 delegates); Massachusetts (41 delegates); and Vermont (17 delegates). In all, on Super Tuesday, 436 delegates are at play - almost 4 times the number selected to date. By the time Super Tuesday is over, 22 states will have held either caucuses or primaries. To say that Super Tuesday will have a major impact, if not decide the GOP
counties you really don't get a vote and there is no county opt-out clause. 100% of the legislature supported a county opt-out clause, but the sponsors of the Bill successfully blocked an up/down vote. There is plenty of loot in Piracy. Vote NO TSPLOST.

Aye matey! Its vote like a Pirate day on July 31, 2012. This is the day that Georgians will go to the polls to impose a 1% sales tax on themselves called T-SPLOST. The problem is your vote will not count for much if you live in a small county. The Georgia Constitution is remarkable in that it allows for Home Rule or county selfdetermination. It has been that way since Georgia started chartering counties. This Regional vote scheme of T-SPLOST completely dismantles Home Rule and disenfranchises thousands of voters. Many believe it violates the Georgia Constitution. T-SPLOST lumps counties into Georgia's 12 Regions set up in the early 1970's during the Carter administration to deliver social services. These regions are not re drawn and proportionally balanced by population, as we do all congressional districts, state house districts, senate districts, and county commission districts. This means the votes from rural counties don't count for much. Your vote will be overridden by the large counties in your Region. For example, in Region 3 if Gwinnett, Fulton, Cobb, and Dekalb counties vote 67% YES for the T-SPLOST, it can't be reversed by all the other counties voting NO. If you live in the other

to speak his mind. Naturally he made enemies, some within his own party. And it is those enemies and their successors who are out to get Newt's scalp today. Moreover, it is important to remember that Newt was Ronald Reagan's champion on Capitol Hill. My father knew and appreciated that fact. Look, I know that Newt has rubbed a lot of his fellow Republicans the wrong way, but that is the inevitable result when a leader does his job. He simply can't satisfy everybody, and those who attempt to do so comprise the GOP's wobbly liberal wing. Leading the charge against Newt are supporters of former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. They do the governor no favors by linking him to the GOP's small but vociferous liberal wing, which doesn't like warriors. Newt is a warrior who cherishes any opportunity to go into battle, flags flying.

This being an election year, we can expect various factions of the GOP to seek to modify the tenets of traditional Republicanism. They prefer to shrink away from any hard fighting. Newt is the exact opposite; he relishes the joys of hard combat on behalf of conservative American principles. That upsets some of his fellow Republicans, who are more like the mother who asks what her children are doing upstairs, and when told they are engaging in some horrible behavior, says, "That's nice, don't fight." Newt fights. Real Republicans need fighters, not mealy-mouthed compromisers who shrink away from any form of combat. He may stray away from what many of his GOP colleagues consider proper Republican behavior. But Newt is ready and able to take the fight to Obama, and he will win that fight, unless the compromisers have their way. Parks and Recreation Mr. Tim Coley has worked tirelessly with his team to accomplish some of the goals that were set forth. Our hats are off to Tim and his team for all they have done to keep the monument looking well, but there are things that are yet to be accomplished that he has no control over. Those who set the goals are the ones who must finish the project. Many citizens do not realize that the monument is actually not finished. The flag stanchions that hold the flags at the monument need to be repaired and that was to be accomplished through the county. Also, a commissioner said that the wrought iron fencing would be installed not in 2010, but likely in 2011. The fencing was coming from the fencing taken down from Eagles Landing Parkway. It was to be cleaned and painted. These projects should have already been accomplished by this time. The Veterans Wall of Honor Preservation Committee has taken note of the fact that these projects have not been accomplished. They have watched as Butts County and the City of Jackson have created a beautiful monument to our Veterans. The project was designed and proposed in January 2011 and finished by Veterans Day of 2011. They had their act together. And Henry County is still grabbling to finish our Wall of Honor. The Veterans Wall of Honor at Heritage Park is now seven years in the making and it is about time to have it finished and a budget set aside to provide for its upkeep. I personally sent an email to the County Manager on February 1, 2011 asking when this project would be completed. As of yet there has been no response. Here is something all Veterans in Henry County need to be advised of as they go to the polls to vote this year. Henry County found the money to buy an airport, have its name changed, and hire a company to see to its day to day operations. They could find money for this, but not for the monument to those who have fought and died for our nation. The Veterans Wall of Honor Preservation Committee has been treated like the red headed step child of Henry County ever since its inception. The only member of the county workforce who have really helped us is those with the Parks and Recreation Dept. under Tim Coley and Jim Joyce who can only do what they can with the money they have at their disposal. Remember my fellow veterans; We stood by those here at home so that they may be free, it is only right that they stand by us for what they love: money.

noted that the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion and that This freedom is transgressed when a religious institution is required to pay for contraceptive services including abortioninducing drugs and sterilization services that directly violate their religious convictions. The Obamacare statute has concentrated in the hands of the federal government broad power over the one-sixth of the American economy that is health care. Obamacare purports to invest in the federal government the power to force religious institutions, such as religious hospitals, charities, and schools, to provide health care insurance for contraception, abortion-inducing drugs, and human sterilization, contrary to the faiths of those religious institutions. As Ronald Reagan said, Concentrated power has always been the enemy of liberty. The concentration of nearly all power over health care in the hands of the federal government has proved to be a drastic and dangerous experiment. Congress should repeal the Obamacare statute, allow the country to have market-based, patient-centered health care, and restore our religious liberty.
That is why the liberal media want Romney and will do anything within their power to influence voters towards the Romney is inevitable meme. Taylor Marsh, a liberal, someone whom I rarely agree on policy issues, but have stated many times she shoots from the hip, she is honest in her opinions whether I agree with her stances or not, and who pulls no punches when it comes to Obamas failures, understands and acknowledges what other liberals refuse to the liberal media in this country want Obama to be reelected and have been AT HIS FEET, since he came to Washington. Gingrich is now LEADING IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA POLLS and is SURGING TO THE FRONT OF THE PACK as the odds on favorite to win the largest primary to be held to date, South Carolina, on Saturday, January 21, 2012. (Join us tomorrow for the LIVE BLOGGING/LIVE DISCUSSION as we watch and talk about entrance and exit polls and report on primary results) Yesterday news reports showed that RICK SANTORUM BEAT MITT ROMNEY IN THE IOWA CAUCUSES. Romney took New Hampshire. If Newt Gingrich takes South Carolina on Saturday, will the media stop acting like Romney is the presumptive nominee? Will they start calling someone else inevitable? Doubtful. Or will they continue to push and attempt to influence the public into the candidate of their choice to go against the liberal medias darling, Barack Obama? It is this political bias in the media that makes Newt Gingrichs statement I AM TIRED OF THE ELITE MEDIA PROTECTING BARACK OBAMA BY ATTACKING REPUBLICANS, highly effective and resonates with GOP supporters. (Video of two more standing ovations for Gingrich when he ripped the press, at the above link) Marsh and Gingrich are not the only ones that see the media bias for what it is, according to Pew Research in Sept. 2011, 60 percent of Americans also perceive bias in the media, with 47 PERCENT SAYING THE MEDIA IS TOO LIBERAL, and 13 percent saying that that it was too conservative. Only the BLIND OR INTELLECTUALLY DISHONEST will claim there is no liberal media bias and only conservatives feel there is.
Obama & Liberal Media Want Mitt Romney? They Believe Obama Can Beat Him
By Susan Duclos for Tea Party Conservatives Online With just two caucus/primaries completed, the media has pushed for the Romney is inevitable meme, and there is a reason for that. The liberal faction of the media want Mitt Romney to be the GOP nominee because they believe that Obama can dominate Romney in the presidential debates and ultimately beat him in November 2012. I was a Rick Perry supporter, for reasons I have explained on this blog, multiple times. PERRY DROPPED OUT and threw his support behind Newt Gingrich yesterday. Even while supporting Perry I have noted many times that Newt Gingrich is a consistently good debater and there is no doubt in my mind that one-on-one against Barack Obama in debates, Gingrich will make mincemeat out of Obama.
His high-priced strategists -- the ones who bragged to the New York Times about engineering his post-South Carolina comeback -wind him up and then find photographers to capture him "doing his own laundry," buying a Big Mac, or woodenly tossing bags of potato chips to media jackals on his campaign plane. This pitifully plastic campaign is what passes for winning politics in the GOP. Newt, Romney supporters crow, is a loser and "embarrassment." But what about their own candidate? Romney's teleprompter-dependent drivel is far more risible than Newt's grandiose opining. Romney comes off as the blinkered technocrat whose idea of wit is to compare his opponent to "Lucille Ball at the chocolate factory." All one can say for Romney is that he looks presidential. If Newt looked like Romney and Mitt looked like an overfed blowhard, Gingrich would be winning. That Romney is a corny businessman of narrow learning and culture wouldn't be so deadly if he harbored conservative convictions. But he doesn't. He has been taught how to play a semiconservative Republican on TV, but his deepest instincts remain liberal. Hence, his dogged pride in Romneycare, legislation that Barack Obama himself would have fathered had he governed the Bay State. What's notable about the rise of Romney is not the extent to which he has pandered to conservatives -- the usual media narrative -- but the ease with which he has left his liberalism open for all to see and still won. In the debates, he has defended statist mandates, extolled gay rights (short of marriage), and waxed nostalgic about FDR's New Deal. Remember his rebuke of Rick Perry for even contemplating a system other than Social Security? Good Republicans, Mitt let Perry know, don't entertain such impure thoughts. Almost two years after energy from the Tea Party swept Republicans back into congressional power, a politician who embodies the antithesis of that spirit stands on the verge of victory. This is regress, not progress, and the GOP will pay a severe price for the Faustian bargain of "electability" that it entails. A party that chooses power over principle will lose both.
time for a new face. Bo has no connections to a large utility outside and inside the county. He is a hard working man and knows what the economy is really like for the average person in Henry County.
Bo wants to see that the needs of the people are met and that the district is not only kept apprised of the current happenings, but that the district gets the money it needs to make the needed changes that are long over due. Bo is a conservative who does not want to see the county balloon into the bureaucratic mess it found itself and had to lay people off and hurt families so an airport could be bought. So when the time comes vote for Bo Moss for the first district of Henry County. He will be the voice of the citizen for change.

Speaking to Ron Mitchell, a producer at Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," Eastwood asserted, "I am certainly not politically affiliated with Mr. Obama. It was meant to be a message ... just about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it." Eastwood, who served as mayor of Carmel-bythe-Sea, California, in the 1980s, added that he is "not supporting any politician at this time" but noted that, if Obama or any other politician "want to run with the spirit of that ad, go for it." In the ad -- dubbed "Halftime in America" -Eastwood extols the resiliency of the American spirit -- as exemplified by the auto industry's efforts to bounce back from its financial woes. "This country can't be knocked out with one punch, we get right back up again," Eastwood growls in the ad.
Some lawmakers feel Deal's gas tax plan could ease opposition to TSPLOST
Read more: THE MARIETTA DAILY JOURNAL Cobb lawmakers are praising Gov. Nathan Deals proposal to use gas tax money to help fund a $900 million toll road project along Interstates 75 and 575 in Cobb and Cherokee counties, with some saying it could save the Transportation Improvement Act referendum when it goes before voters in July. TELL ME exactly how toll lanes will make voters more accepting of yet ANOTHER SALES TAX???? The rocket scientists promoting T-SPLOST are making the opposition's case every day!
Romney won both states by a landslide. Some observers say the declining interest is a reflection of the lack of enthusiasm for the former Massachusetts governor. Some observers, however, point to a trend of higher turnout in counties where former House speaker Newt Gingrich outperformed Romney. "He's much more of an attack dog when it comes to not only his primary opponents but also his potential general election opponent, Obama," said Michael McDonald, a professor at George Mason University who runs the United States Elections Project, which monitors election and turnout data. "The Republican voters really crave someone who's going to display that sort of attack mentality when it comes to the general election. That's something you can get enthused upon. Romney's campaign is not a campaign that seems to be able to spark that kind of enthusiasm." Turnout is also directly related to how closely voters are engaged in the political process, and that was more the case in early nominating states than in Florida and Nevada.
It's Time To Get Rid Of Pork Barrel Spending FOR REAL! The Washington Post reveals more details about these shameless schemes... Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D - Calif). Over the past decade, the House minority leader helped secure $50 million in earmarks toward a light-rail project that provides direct access to San Francisco's Union Square and Chinatown for neighborhoods south of Market Street. Pelosi's husband owns a four-story commercial building blocks from Union Square. Sen. Harry Reid (D- Nev). In 2004 and 2005, the Senate majority leader secured $21.5 million to build a bridge over the Colorado River, linking the gambling resort town of Laughlin, Nev., with Bullhead City, Ariz. Reid owns 160 acres of undeveloped land in Bullhead City. Rep. Steve Israel (D - N.Y). The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair - In 2008, Israel earmarked $490,000 to study a bypass road to ease congestion along a busy commercial corridor that borders the congressman's neighborhood in Dix Hills. Tell Congress: Cut The Fat! NO MORE EXCUSES: It's Time To Get Rid Of Pork Barrel Spending FOR REAL! What part of "stop the spending" does Congress not understand? We are facing trillion dollar plus deficits and a mindnumbing $15 trillion dollar debt... Washington is borrowing over $3.98 billion dollars per day - more than $2 million per minute... ....And now we learn that much of the pork is helping to line the pockets of the very politicians who pass it. It's outrageous! And that is precisely why patriotic Americans like you can't give up the fight. Now is the time to turn up the heat.
A Washington Post investigation reveals that 33 members of Congress have directed more than over $401 million in earmarks and other spending provisions to dozens of public projects that are next to or within about two miles of the lawmakers' own property. Over a year after Washington supposedly got rid of earmarks, these slick elected officials have already found a way around the ban. They're inserting special funds in spending bills that give funds to public works projects in their states. These Capitol Hill crooks have created an enormous slush fund for their own personal profit. Tell Congress: Cut The Fat! NO MORE EXCUSES:
launch KBN Television in the Atlanta market, March 5, at 9 p.m., on Charter Cable Channel 22. The channels acronym stands for the Kairos Broadcasting Network. Kairos is a Greek word which means the precisely best moment in time to do something, said Ray McBerry, the businessman, who plans to start the new channel. In Christian terms, it [kairos] also represents the fact that Christ came into the world at precisely the right time to fulfill his promise to redeem mankind. The anchor program for KBN Television will be the Georgia First show, hosted by McBerry. The program will consist of political issues and current events, from what McBerry called a traditional, constitutional viewpoint, which focuses on state sovereignty and local self-government. Mr. McBerry will bring many years of experience to the new station. He has worked for other stations on Charter for the past 10 years. This should be a good change for many here in the Southern Crescent.
