FROM THE PASTOR
THE CONDUCT OF A CHRISTIAN Questions of how to conduct oneself as a Christian, or how to serve as a Christian, must be answered by life itselfthe life of the individual in his direct, responsible relationship to God. This is dynamic, never a static thing. And how can we speak at all of the true meaning of conduct and service if we do not speak first and last of love? For it is love which sums up all other commands. The one who loves knows better than anyone else how to conduct himself, how to serve the one he loves. Love prescribes an answer in a given situation as no mere rule can do. The man whose life is lived in love does in fact, live in God, and God does, in fact, live in him. Copied _____________

Over the next few weeks in Childrens Church, we will focus on becoming strong and courageous kids. Your children will learn that God gives them the courage and encouragement they need to remain obedient to him, even during tough times, worldly pressures, and persecution. If your child is not a part of the Childrens Ministry here, we invite them to join us on Sundays at 9:45 a.m. for Sunday School, 10:30 a.m. for Childrens Church & 6:00 p.m. for Creative Kids and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. for Kids church. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 NIV) _____________ SOUP LABELS & MEDICINE BOTTLES The Ladies Ministry is collecting Campbell Soup labels for the Smoky Mountain Childrens Home. The Home collects these labels to purchase a van for the Home. The Iris B. Vest Widows Care Center uses empty medicine bottles to make crafts so bring in your empty medicine bottle, also. There will be containers for these items in the lobby. Thanks! _____________ OUR CONDOLENCES We send our love, sympathy and prayers to Marty, Tina, Machela and Elliot Worthington and their family. Martys dad, Elmer, passed away on Wednesday morning from a massive heart attack. The visitation and funeral was at Allens Funeral Home on Friday evening and the burial was on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Please remember to keep Marty and his family in your prayers.

He could have taken a throne, or a scepter, or a crown; but he took a towel. Love always does what it does not have to do. People do not have to go to foreign fields and become missionaries. Love sends them there. Paul did not have to go to prison and spend nights in the dark dungeons with a bleeding back and with his feet in stocks. Love sent him there. A mother does not have to watch her baby through long days and weary nights, but love makes her do it. Yes, love always does what it does not have to do, yet love has to do what it does because it is love. ______ If it werent for the last minute, a lot of things wouldnt get done.

Pastor Jonathons Word of the Week

The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized in the lifetime of the opportunity. Leonard Ravenhill 2 Cor. 6:2 For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor now is the day of salvation. ZEPH. 1:14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hastens quickly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: there the mighty man shall cry out bitterly.
