Translation dictionary, on the other hand, is quite a different structure. Since it is very frequently equated with bilingual DICTIONARY, it might be useful to describe it in opposition to this lexicographic type. The most important feature of a bilingual dictionary is the presence of foreign-language equivalents to the units collected in the dictionary. In fact, this is the only requirement for a dictionary to be called bilingual the presence of foreign-language equivalents is its necessary and sufficient typological criterion. Therefore, any dictionary classified according to any other criterion may be bilingual: an encyclopaedic dictionary, a systematic dictionary, a glossary, a thesaurus
