Axminster Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet
LED Head Loupe

This is a lightweight full face, welding helmet with an autodarkening lens unit. Two small photo-electric sensors, located in the front face of the helmet, detect any rapid increase in light, such as when striking an arc, and then darken the screen in a mere 100 millionth of a second. An easily changed clear plastic lens protects the auto-darkening lens filter. An adjusting knob allows the setting of the dark level of the helmet between shades 9 to 13. Inside the helmet is a fully adjustable head strap assembly and the knobs on the side adjust the friction level, controlling the helmet movement. A rear turnbuckle knob allows the head strap to be set to hat size, or tightened onto the head as preferred. Complies with EN379:2003, EN169:2002 & EN175:1997. Now this is a clever piece of equipment. Comprising a 3 LED head lamp combined with interchangeable magnifying lenses, it is quite brilliant for all sorts of close up work. The head loupe has an adjustable head band to make it comfortable to use, whilst the 3 LED lamp can be angled to suit. There are 4 sets of lenses from 1.0x up to 2.5x magnification which are very clear and even work with reading glasses. These clip into place and have their own storage box. Even without using the lenses, the head lamp is very useful for illuminating close objects without the usual elastic head band cutting into the scalp after a time. The LED lamp is detachable and also has magnets in the base, so can be used on a machine or on the car to illuminate a gloomy spot. Using AAA batteries the LED lamp will run for many hours before fresh batteries are required. A most useful item for anyone requiring a close-up and illuminated view.

Flexible Magnifier
This magnifier has a 100mm lens with a flexible stalk attached to a switchable magnetic stand. The stand is similar to those used in engineering to hold measuring tools so is robust with a strong grip. The stand is heavy enough to hold the lens on the bench or desk top, but is perhaps most useful on the engineering lathe or milling machine to check on small items or observe the finish of the cut. The lens has a good optical quality with little distortion at the edges, so gives a clear view. There is a thumb screw tightened swivel on the base of the lens, so you can align the lens correctly whatever the mounting angle. A most useful magnifier in any workshop.
Safety Visor
Fully adjustable for those of us with larger heads, the Axminster visor is excellent for use in either the workshop or on site. It offers full face protection to EN166 1B for woodturning and other activities. The visor has a comfort padded head band and is hinged at the sides, enabling it to be conveniently flipped up and down as required. No more goggles to steam up, and a real boon for wearers of spectacles. The clear visor can be replaced with a mesh screen.

These soft disposable polyurethane plugs provide excellent comfort. The tapered shape is designed to adjust to most ear canals and reduce pressure with a special embossed X, whilst the smooth surface provides better hygiene. The corded uvex Whisper+ is a reusable earplug providing economical and comfortable all day protection. Pre-shaped and pre-formed, it is not necessary to roll the earplug down before insertion. This greatly reduces the risk of infection, making it an ideal product for those who have to move in and out of noisy areas. Electronic Ear Defenders

These electronic ear defenders allow you to carry on a conversation or hear warning calls, whilst automatically attenuating all noise above 85db. Operated by an On/Off switch, which also adjusts the volume, these defenders are fitted with a microphone that transmits to a speaker in each ear-piece, allowing the user to hear low level, safe sounds such as somebodys speech; however, when the noise level reaches 85db this ingenious device automatically protects the ear by stopping any transmission of noise to the ears. uvex 3 Professional Ear Defenders

Comfortable to wear and giving a high level of protection against noise (attenuation level of 31dB), these well built defenders are suitable for a workshop environment and prolonged usage. The ear cups have super soft cushions and the wire headband is easily adjustable and padded for comfort. Especially suited to higher frequency noise like a router. They also neatly fold for storage. It is recommended that you wear hearing protection if your working environment is 80dB and above to avoid hearing damage so by wearing a muff with a protection of 31dB the working environment noise level could be up to 111dB. Ideally you should aim to lower noise as much as possible.

A clever idea from uvex, an ear muff that does not need a solid headband and so is comfortable to wear with a hard hat, baseball cap or visor. There is a headband but it is an adjustable thin band that does not get in the way. There is also a thin metal band that goes around the back of your neck and has more than enough tension to hold the muffs to your head without moving. They are very comfortable to wear and give a good level of hearing protection against the damaging effect of noise, having a 27dB attenuation level, well built and suitable for prolonged usage with super soft ear cushions.

Professional Cup Mask Respirators

The alphamesh 8000 SERIES has been developed to improve the comfort of disposable respirators whilst maintaining an excellent face fit. Recommended for toxic and non toxic dust, oil and water based particles. The outer shell maintains shape and prevents collapse onto the face so there is no need for a metal nose clip or further adjustment when wearing. The super soft inner is very comfortable whilst the low profile exhalation valve reduces heat and moisture build up inside the mask. A charcoal welding option with a full inner face seal for odours, organic vapours, dust fumes etc is also available. This is a very comfortable ear defender with a manual listening function. Just push the button and you reduce attenuation which is very useful in certain situations such as being able to listen to colleagues, moving vehicles and warning sounds more clearly when required without removing the defenders. The Trend Airshield Pro is a fully protected powered respirator for use with all woodworking applications. Suitable for use when machining MDF. Approved to new standard BS EN 12941. Excellent protection for the face and lungs is achieved by several key features. Side Clip Black Braces

Occasionally there may be a situation when you need to carry more than is comfortable using just the work belt. The harness has wide padded shoulder straps and takes the weight away from your hips, redistributing the load. This is by far the best way to work with a heavy work belt, especially for an extended period. The harness is lightweight, comfortable, durable, tear-proof and waterproof ballistic nylon with webbing reinforcement. It features a mobile phone holder, an MP3 holder and a note pad/pen/credit card and ID or pass holder. It has two front and two rear quick-fit belt loops allowing for use with the Klip System and other work belts. Originally developed for use with a scaffold spanner, these holders will take any similar tool with a handle diameter of 22mm or less. The spanner or tool holder is for use with the Klip System belt and available as a single or a double holder. This is one of the most innovative parts of the Klip System. It neatly stores loaded pouches and other items from the Klip System. It is available in either 1 metre (8 Klips) or 500mm (4 Klips) lengths. Holes at each end allow you to attach the rack to your workshop wall or the interior of your van. Rather than chucking your pouch into the back of the van and risk its contents spilling out, simply unclip it from your belt and clip it onto the rack. The Aluminium Storage Rack holds your pouches etc. securely with tools, screws, nails safely in place, ready and waiting for next time.

It attaches to your work belt with two Velcro secured webbing loops. 360mm long it fits between a pouch and the top of your leg. It adds extra protection and comfort especially if the work involves a great deal of movement such as climbing ladders. It is suitable for most work belts as well as the Klip system.

The Can/Bottle Holder fits the Klip System belt. The holder clips onto the belt and will hold a drinks can, water bottle or an aerosol can. Ideal when youre involved in thirsty work. Using British made, chemically blacked leather results in a durable holder thats also water repellent.

This hammer holder fits onto the Klip System belt and features a steel swing hammer cradle. The ballistic nylon is lightweight and incredibly durable. The cradle is double riveted to ensure years of good service.
This lanyard has a spiral wound strong steel core with a tough plastic outer casing. It includes a selection of fittings to attach it to a variety of hand tools. A Klip retainer allows the lanyard to fit directly onto the Klip System belt. In accordance with the 2005 regulations on working at height, tools require tethering with a suitable lanyard.

Ergodyne Tie Hook Squids are unique, super duty, re-usable tie hooks. They are invaluable for organising and storing cables, hoses, cords, ropes and almost anything else. These have at least 1,001 uses and many more we havent thought of yet. Basically, they are large, re-usable zip-loc ties with swivelling hanging hooks. They take the place of bits of string, short lengths of wire and anything else you used to curse as you tried to untangle an extension lead. Wrap the tie around whatever you need, slide the locking ratchet on the belt and cinch it up snugly. Swivel hooks make hanging foolproof. 10kg reccomended load.
