Prophetic dreams
A prophetic dream is not only precognitive in substance but is also as Jung describes it; a message to the self, which is true for most if not all types of dreams, making it difficult for ordinary people to categorise and distinguish them. The third category often present in dreams is the restorative aspect where impressions obtained from the material world during the past hours, days or week manifests during sleep. Restorative dreams serve no purpose and deeper meaning other than letting the brain conduct maintenance without energydraining interference from the ego. To establish a classification of the type of dream experienced first requires a dissection of what aspect of this intrinsic trichotomy is overrepresentative. It is my belief that prophetic and restorative dreams act in polarity to one another; where the first conveys a profound sense of acute relevance such as that experienced when the body triggers a fight or flight response, the other is soothing and hypnotic leaving the dreamer in a state of relaxation, as it is supposed to, when awoken. The other aspect, of the subconscious approach to the self, needn't be disentangled from the theme of the dream inorder to make sense of the prophetic message, as it does often not adhere to an A-Z sequentiality manifesting instead as fragmented anomalies appearing randomly and disorderly throughout the dream. Anomalies should be analyzed and discarded before proceeding to interpret the prophetic message of a dream, which even though following an A-Z sequentiality sometimes needs to be rearranged, where elements of the beginning constitute part of the ending and vice versa. A final judgement reflecting upon the relevance of a dream to the external world needs to be made before labeling a dream as prophetic.

Details
Certain aspects of prophetic dreams are harder than others to comprehend and convert into meaningful information, notoriously difficult are numbers of which I will give an example; A dream foreseeing an attack on a prominent figure by means unknown is the underlying theme. I am aware of the people involved and of the consequences of the action but I have no clue as to how or when it will occur except for the number 7:27 which in the dream appeared as a ticking clock where, when it hit 7:30 (number not seen in the dream) a newsanchor on the tv declared something had "exploded". Knowing that symbolic meaning is a crucial part of dreams it is important to have an open mind and not to take anything literally before establishing if so can be done. In this case I discarded the number 7:27 as being a literal time of day the attack would occur, seeing how real world circumstances surrounding the event made it unlikely, and by taking the whole dreamsequence into account I concluded 7:27 as being representative of a boeing 727 aircraft. I now have a likely time and place based on the people involved, the consequences of the attack and crucially, how it will unfold. A last remark on the nature of prophetic dreams is the feeling of being an observer of events from a distance or outside looking into a bubble, compared to other kinds of dreams where one is usually an active participant.

Animal carrier dreams

This type of dream is recognised for its affiliation with shamans, temporarily assuming the minds of creatures for purpose of ceremonies and healing. Any animal can be temporarily dominated by dreaming humans but more mentally sofisticated creatures are harder to bend into submission, hence insects are overrepresented in this category. Animal carrier dreams can be confused with DNA journeys where the dreamer assumes a form predating human anatomy. To distinguish between the two consider the environmental surroundings of the dream to determine where you are in time and space. This category of dreams often appears chaotic because of the unfamiliar physics and perspectives encountered, and to make it even more confusing it is not unusual to possess several different creatures in one night. I myself have been a squirrel moving with great agility through the branches of a pinetree, cranefly tumbling in the air uncontrollably and an unidentified wallclimbing animal talking to a woodeating larvae, all in one session.

Restorative dreams
The most common type, encompassing everything that does not pertain to any of the other categories per say, but always run in parallell to them on some level, the archetype being recognisable in most dreams. Restorative dreams by themselves are, if not purposeless distractions while the brain and body is regenerating, often directed introspectively and may present opportunities and issues concerning ones own conscious & subconsciousness, applicable and relevant to the material world. Highly metaphorical.

DNA journeys
The brain is mainly a processing unit, capable of storing information in both short and longterm memorybanks its true, but our main database for collecting and storing memories spanning across lifetimes is not the brain, its the doublehelix. The brain is a filter, strategos and rerouter of essential evolutionary advancements needed for longterm survival of a species. Subconsciousness and the soul rests within the genetic code, life was, before the brain. DNA journeys offer a glimpse through the ages and serve as a profoundly satisfying experience. It is possible to activate dormant archaic genes and access its information. DNA can serve as a shelter for wandering spirits too and there are dormant spirits already within your DNA eager to be revived into consciousness. Time travelling dreams distinguish themselves, atleast when you are travelling the human doublehelix, by the sense of realism they evoke, while at the same time being encapsulated in a cloudy ancient air of silent hopelessness and nostalgic reminiscence.

Satemercial dreams
Productplacement appearing in dreams. Different methods apply; Converted neuromicrowaves, barely audible radiofrequencies, subliminal imprinting etc.

Extraterrestrial/Dimensional dreams
Easily confused with restorative dreams. The following traits should be present although it by no means automatically confines a dream within this category;

Altered physics, decreased gravity or other. Continuity, the dream should not be fragmented but in an A-Z seqence. Highly detailed environment. Lacking common symbolic structures, and if restorative aspects appear as they usually do in most dreams, make a decision based on the superstructure of the dream. Lengthy conversations (or interactions) with unusual organisms, providing coherent information, easily remembered, with a definite beginning and end. Daily life as it is normally perceived, only slightly distorted, may be indicative of a parallel universe. Designated role which you automatically assume and by which others interpret you. Anchored identity. Recurrent landscape but not recurring actions, unless by yourself. Should not have identically recurring interactions with others.

Telepathic dreams
Usually occurring with close relatives. Key trait to look for is autonomous selfawareness, that is the possibility of the person being a projection from your personal knowledge of said should be excluded. The dream is skewed or otherwise interfered with, unfamiliar environments or situations involving the other persons friends and family. A sense that the dream does not belong to you but is shared or entirely projected by the other party, you are not the main attraction or purpose. The telepathic communicator is presenting and teleporting you to places they enjoy and wish to share. Shared memory. I have experienced a telepathic dream where a person engaged in multiple telepathy on different levels of consciousness, with me in the same room and with another person through a book acting as a wormhole to another mans consciousness. Telepathic dreams are usually not equal but controlled by whomever has the superior powers.
