Set your desktop to a resolution of 800x600, 32 bit True Color. 1) Right-click on your desktop and select Properties. 2) Click the Settings tab. 3) Set your screen area to 800x600. 4) Set the colors to 32 Bit (True Color). Under Windows NT this will be listed a s 65554 colors. 5) Click Apply and OK. For Windows XP 1) Right-click on your desktop and select Properties. 2) Click the Settings tab. 3) Set your screen area to 800x600. 4) Set the colors to Highest (32 bit). 5) Click Apply and OK. For Windows Vista 1) Right-click on your desktop and select Personalize. 2) Click on Display Settings 3) Set the resolution slider to 800X600 4) Set the colors to Highest (32 bit). 5) Click Apply and OK. All background applications must be shutdown prior to running the game. Turn the hardware acceleration for your sound card to Basic. 1) Click the Start button > Settings > Control Panel. 2) Double-click on the Multimedia icon. 3) Select the Audio tab. 4) Click on the Advanced Properties button in the Playback section. 5) Click on the Performance tab. 6) Reduce the Hardware acceleration to Basic, the 2nd notch from the left. 7) Click Apply and then OK 2 times. Run the game now. Don't forget to turn the a cceleration back up to restore the high-end features for your sound card when us ing other applications. And so on, I can't believe I didn't figure it out on my own because I had echo a nd problems with dead space and I forgot that one of my sounder driver things me sses with some pc games and I have to disable it each time I start games because for some reason it doesn't uninstall but since I got the problem fixed wolverin e runs at full resolution on my computer and highest graphics I knew it wasn't my pc, since I can run most unreal engine type games at full gr aphics and rez!!! 1-If so, go in the XP / Vista Device manager, under: Sound, video and game contr ollers. 2-Find something similar to this: Audio, semi duplex unimodem. 3-Double click on this entry and deactivate it by selecting: Do not use this dev ice (or something similar). Some games, namely this one, may get confused as to what audio device they shoul d use, even if you've selected your sound card as the preferred audio device in XP / Vista audio configuration tab and will refuse to start or start briefly and exit back to the Windows desktop. Since conventional modems / voice modems are almost extinct this problem / bug i s not well known. F.E.A.R. 2 also suffers from this bug. Note: Device drivers installation order may affect my previous statement. Instal ling sound card drivers first and modem drivers afterward may result in either n o audio (F.E.A.R. 2) or crashing back to desktop (Wolverine) but doing the oppos ite may cause no problem at all, going unnoticed by people having voice modems i nstalled in their computers.
