2 Introduction
This manual describes how to update the Hotelbeds Accommodation & Destination Services (from now on Hotelbeds) product using pipe (|) delimited files. The intended audience is the clients technical staff or the clients system integrator. Hotelbeds retains the right to make changes or improvements to the specification of the files in the future. Hotelbeds will inform the clients in advance. The client will be responsible for any action derived from those modifications in their system.
2.1
Document version policy

The version number is divided in three different parts, major version, minor version and release. For instance for the version 1.0.0 we have: 1 Major version 0 Minor version 0 Release
Major version: Indicates the version number of the pipe delimited files and documentation, if this version number changes probably a brand new development is needed. There will not be backwards compatibility. Minor version: Indicates minor changes in the pipe delimited files specification or in the documentation, such as: new files or changes in the existing files. A minor version change can be backwards compatible or not. If new pipe delimited files are added it will be backwards compatible, otherwise if there are changes, like changes in fields length of the existing files it will not be backwards compatible. Release: Indicates a new release of the pipe delimited files with minor changes like optional fields added to existing files, but it will always be backwards compatible. Note that to maintain backwards compatibility adding new fields to a file will always change the release version and they will be appended to the last field in the file.
2.2
Product update limitations.

Only Hotel product information is provided using the pipe delimited files except for destinations.
You have a file for car product destinations, hotel product destinations, ticket product destinations and transfer product destinations. Every pipe delimited file contains all selected records from the system. There is no explicit remark for new records, or remarks for changes in pre-existing records.

Each file described in this document has a file properties section, where you can find a field name,

Note that when you find a PK between brackets at the description end it means that this field is part of a primary key. Linked file: Linked file to get additional or complementary data for this field. Additional data: Indicates if this field value is only provided when the Additional data has been contracted. Yes: The field value is only provided when it exists in the system and the Additional data has been contracted. No: The field value is always provided if it exists in the system.

Each file described in this document has a file of updates where you can find the modifications

3 Technical information
3.1 Pipe delimited files
The pipe delimited file format is a delimited data format that has fields separated by the pipe (|) character and records separated by new lines.
3.2
Accessing the files

The FTP site address is the same for Basic and Extended users : ftp.hotelbeds.com .Then you
must use the password provided for hotelbeds. In the FTP site, there is a folder called exportCSV, which contains one of these two compressed files, Basic.zip or Extended.zip . One or the other will appear depending on which type of user connects. These files are compressed in order to reduce downloading time.
3.3
Update policy
The contents info will be generated each Monday at 10.00 AM (GMT +1). There wont be any backup for the content files.

Diagram important notices. To obtain all valid terminals for transfer zones you need to use the table TerminalTransferZone. All terminals in the table TerminalTransferZone have an associated transfer zone:
ZoneTransferTerminal. To obtain the terminal description you need to use this transfer zone and find its description in the table TransferZoneDescription. Terminals table must be used to: - Show travel information (departure terminal). - Show the distance between terminals and hotels.

5 Files description
5.1 Hotels
This file contains all the relevant information about hotel, as the Hotel Code, the Hotel Name, Destination Code, . This file includes all the hotels that we have in our system. This table is connected with the following tables: HotelDescriptions table by means of HotelCode field which includes the hotel descriptions. HotelTerminals table by means of HotelCode field which includes the information of terminals (airports, ports, stations (bus and trains)). HotelIssues table by means of HotelCode field which contains the information about the hotel incidences (Facilities not working, Animal Policies, ). Facilities table by means of HotelCode field. The Facilities table includes all the information about the hotel facilities, as pools, as gyms and other informations as distances to relevant places, for example. HotelImages table by means of HotelCode field which contains the URL of the hotel images. Contacts table by means of HotelCode field which includes the hotel contacts, Phones table by means of HotelCode field which includes the phone numbers.. Zones table by means of ZoneCode field which contains the zone codes, destination codes, ... Chains table by means of ChainCode field which includes the chain codes and the descriptions of each hotel chain. Categories table by means of CategoryCode field which contains category code, description code (2EST, 5EST, ), HotelTransferZone table by means of HotelCode field which contains the relation between postal codes and transfer zones.

This file contains the descriptions of the hotels in different languages, as Hotel Facilities, Hotel Code, . This table includes all the relevant information about the hotel (the same that appears in our Website). It

is connected with Hotels table by means of HotelCode field and its connected too with Languages table by means of LanguageCode.

6 Files updates
Files of updates are created to provide clients a mechanism to control last changes done at product files. This files contains the information that has been modified in last two months. All of them contains two same fields, UpdateType and Date. The field UpdateType means the type of modification registered on an element, and the possible values are: I : Means the element has been inserted U : Means the element has been updated D : Means the element has been deleted
The field Date contains the date when the element is modified. The next diagram shows an example of Updates File use.
Its so important to remember that one element that has been deleted will not be found at original files. For example,
