JOB TITLE: Global Investment Research, Business Analyst

DIVISION OVERVIEW Global Investment Research (GIR) produces the fundamental research and analysis of industries, companies, and economies, which drive commercial business for the firm. We develop relationships with investing clients and help them achieve superior returns through our industry insights and investment ideas. JOB SUMMARY The successful candidate would be working closely with senior analysts in sector teams to analyse companies and stocks within the sector and the factors that affect the industry as a whole. RESPONSIBILITIES Researching and critically analysing market information Auditing company and industry data and statistics Assisting in compilation and writing of thematic sector and company research reports and investment recommendations for our clients Building and maintaining financial models using advanced Excel Prepare pre-results and post results updates on companies Develop relationships with internal and external clients including company IR departments Handling requests for information from clients and other Goldman Sachs divisions EXPERIENCE/SKILLS Strong quantitative, analytical and technical skills experience in excel and working with financial models Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written Excellent academic background - no specific degree background necessary Desirable background(s) could include ACA qualified or part qualified, previous work in an investment bank or CFA qualified COMPETENCIES Functional Expertise - Keeps up-to-date with emerging business, economic, and market trends
