Meditation 17
Perchance
he
for
whom
this
bell
tolls
may
be
so
ill,
as
that
he
knows
not
it
tolls
for
him;
and
perchance
I
may
think
myself
so
much
better
than
I
am,
as
that
they
who
are
about
me,
and
see
my
state,
may
have
caused
it
to
toll
for
me,
and
I
know
not
that.
And
when
she
buries
a
man,
that
action
concerns
me:
all
mankind
is
of
one
author,
and
is
one
volume;
when
one
man
dies,
one
chapter
is
not
torn
out
of
the
book,
but
translated
into
a
better
language;
and
every
chapter
must
be
so
translated;
As
therefore
the
bell
that
rings
to
a
sermon
calls
not
upon
the
preacher
only,
but
upon
the
congregation
to
come,
so
this
bell
calls
us
all;
but
how
much
more
me,
who
am
brought
so
near
the
door
by
this
sickness.
_____________________________________________________________________________
As the bell rings for everyone except
_____________________________________________________________________________
preacher, we all would be called. I have
_____________________________________________________________________________
more chance to be called because I have
_____________________________________________________________________________
this illness.
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
There
was a debate as far as a suit (in which
allegiance,
respect, religion, and belief) about
_____________________________________________________________________________
who
should
ring
to the prayers first in the
_____________________________________________________________________________
morning.
Then
it
was determined that a man who
_____________________________________________________________________________
waked up first should ring the bell.
_____________________________________________________________________________
If
we understand the respect of this bell means,
_____________________________________________________________________________
we
would be appreciated of it. the bell rings
_____________________________________________________________________________
for
people who wish to get blessed. Although it
_____________________________________________________________________________
stops for while, the bell rings again for him
_____________________________________________________________________________
and he would be united to God.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Who
casts
not
up
his
eye
to
the
sun
when
it
rises?
but
who
takes
off
his
eye
from
a
comet
when
that
breaks
out?
Who
bends
not
his
ear
to
any
bell
which
upon
any
occasion
rings?
but
who
can
remove
it
from
that
bell
which
is
passing
a
piece
of
himself
out
of
this
world?
_____________________________________________________________________________
Who doesn't look at the sunrise? However, who
takes off his eyes from a comet which pass
_____________________________________________________________________________
across the sky? Who doesn't listen to a bell
_____________________________________________________________________________
ringing? But who can get rid of the bell
_____________________________________________________________________________
passing him from the world?
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
Every man's death abbreviate me because we
all are connected and part of the world,
_____________________________________________________________________________
therefore, no one would never know whom the
_____________________________________________________________________________
bell rings or if it is you.
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
This doesn't say that we should get sad. We
_____________________________________________________________________________
are already in sorrow. But we don't have
enough and need to go get more sorrow of
_____________________________________________________________________________
losing neighbors from your next door.
_____________________________________________________________________________
_____________________________________________________________________________
If
a man carries treasure in wedge of gold
_____________________________________________________________________________
and
hasn't change to money, the treasure
_____________________________________________________________________________
would
not pay as he travels. Pain/straggle
_____________________________________________________________________________
is real and true treasure but he cannot use
_____________________________________________________________________________
it for money excepted get closer to heaven,
_____________________________________________________________________________
death.
Another
man
may
be
sick
too,
and
sick
to
death,
and
this
affliction
may
lie
in
his
bowels,
as
gold
in
a
mine,
and
be
of
no
use
to
him;
but
this
bell,
that
tells
me
of
his
affliction,
digs
out
and
applies
that
gold
to
me:
