* Purpose of the conference:


Provide a strong opportunity for participants from various countries and regions to share their solid experiences and ideas, to reach the appropriate recommendations can be adopted as policies for the development of Islamic and conventional banking efficiently, and as would re-shape the future of banking industry, both Islamic and conventional.

* Anticipated Participants:
Leaders of central banks and banking regulatory institutions. CEOs and Managers of banks and expert staff. Shariah Boards Members in Islamic banks. Heads of auditing departments in Islamic and conventional banks. University professors and post graduate students Specialists of R&D in banking industry. Audience of researchers and those concerned in Islamic and Conventional banking.

Theme I: The role of central banks and banking regulatory institutions in directing banks to better procedures and practices: Conventional banking and financial institutions: Central banks, Arab Monetary Fund, Security Commissions, Union of Arab Banks, Bank for International Settlements, etc .... Islamic banking and finance Institutions: Islamic Development Bank group (IDB), Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI), Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), International Islamic Financial Markets (IIFM), ... Theme IV: Prospects of improving banking procedures and practices: Ethics and foundations of improving, Areas of improvement for banking services, Fields of developing the methods of providing banking services, proposed financing for Conventional banking, proposed financing for Islamic banking, Proposed banking services, Prospects of special precautionary rules of Islamic and conventional banks in the region, Areas development of accounting and auditing standards in the banks, Any other proposal would develop the banking industry.

* Instructions and Directions:


Researcher shows his/her desire to participate through a letter via e-mail to conference director, indicating the theme he/she wish to participate in, and accompanied by: Study proposal, in MS - office word format, indicating the title and a general introduction and methodology of the study, proposed structure of the contents of his/her study, in addition to the most important references and sources proposed, and up (350) words. Short CV, stating the name, nationality and place of the current work, specialty, academic rank, and phone number. Paper to be participated in the conference must be: Not participated in (or submitted to) other conferences or seminars. Not published in (or mailed to) any scientific journal. Not proceeding from (thesis/ dissertation) of Graduate Studies. Post via e-mail. Authentic and committed to recognized principles of scientific research, and following the specifications of scientific research, including scientific documentation. Printed in either Arabic or English. Printed in font size 14 for the Arabic language, and 12 for English language, and not exceeding than (25) sheets, including appendices. All research proposals will be judged and received a special arbitration in accordance with the recognized academic principles, in order to select the accepted papers to participate in the conference, and such decision is final. A special priority will be given to comparison based research, either between banking institutions in a particular country, or across the time series of the same banking institution, as well as a comparison between the banking institutions in different countries. Participants at the conference will have an opportunity to modify their own papers (within a month after the end of the conference) to be arbitrated, in order to proceed it within a special scientific issue of the university publications. Al al Bayt University will grant the following facilities and sponsorship for one author per each paper that accepted in the conference: Transportation from Queen Alia International Airport and any other programmed internal transportation, full accommodation and hospitality, during the conference period, as well as the conference materials. For those who want to attend the conference (non-participants), they have to bear all their own cost and expenditure of residence and hospitality, as well as travel tickets, internal travel and movement costs, and the same applies to persons who want to accompany the participants in conference.
