Abstract
The abstract is to be in fully-justified italicized text. Use the word Abstract as the title, in 12-point
Times, boldface type, initially capitalized. The abstract is to be in 12-point, single-spaced type, and up
to 20 lines in length.
1.
Introduction
These guidelines include complete descriptions of the fonts, spacing, and related information for
producing your IT-Reports. Please follow them.
2.
All printed material, including text, illustrations, and charts, must be kept within a print area of 17.0 cm
wide by 23.7 cm high, i.e. A4 paper size (210 x 297 mm) with margins at top: 3 cm, bottom: 3 cm, left:
2 cm, and right: 2 cm.
3.
Main title
Write the main title on the first page centered, and in Times 28-point, boldface type.
Capitalize the first letter of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs; do not capitalize articles,
coordinate conjunctions, or prepositions (unless the title begins with such a word).
4.
Author name(s)
Author names are to be beneath the title and printed in Times 12-point, non-boldface type.
5.
Table of contents, list of figures and tables follow the example shown in this template. Use your word
processor to generate them automatically and be sure to keep them updated.
6.
Following pages
The following pages should begin 3 cm from the top edge, cf. section 2 above.
7.
Wherever Times is specified, Times Roman or Times New Roman may be used. If neither is available on
your word processor, please use the font closest in appearance to Times.
Source code is typed by a monospaced font, also called a fixed-width font, like Courier New 10-point.
8.
Main text
Type your main text in 12-point Times, single-spaced. Do not use double-spacing.
9.
Figures/Captions
Place Tables/Figures/Images in text as close to the reference as possible (see Figure 1).
Captions should be Times New Roman 10-point bold. They should be numbered (e.g., Figure 1 or
Table 1); please note that the word for Table and Figure are spelled out. Figures captions should be
centered beneath the image or picture, and Table captions should be centered above the table body.
Table 1. Table captions should be placed above the table

For example, 1. Introduction, should be Times 12-point boldface, initially capitalized, flush left, with
two blank lines before, and one blank line after. Use a period (.) after the heading number, not a colon.

Footnotes
Use footnotes sparingly (or not at all) and place them at the bottom of the page on which they are
referenced. Use Times 10-point type, single-spaced.11
12.
Page numbers
All pages except for the first must have a page number. Place the number in the page footer, to the right
in 12-point Times.
