Perspective drawing of fan Fan HAF 280-300 FLS fans, Type HAF, are highly efficient highpressure fans which are used in industry to generate a flow of clean or dust-laden exhaust gases. These fans can withstand continuous operation at flow temperatures up to 400oC and 440oC for short periods. HAF fans operate at pressures up to 20,000 Pa with performances up to 160 m3/s and an efficiency up to 82%. They are designed to operate in the rigorous environment of the cement industry. The fan is of the single-suction type, the suction box forming an integral part of the spiral-shaped casing. The shrouded impeller, of the centrifugal type with backward curved blades, is positioned between the bearings. The fan has an access door for inspection of the impeller. The impeller is dynamically balanced to ensure vibration-free operation. The shaft is fitted with two cooling discs to prevent overheating of bearings when operating at temperatures above 150oC. The fan is provided with self-aligning, oillubricated, spherical roller bearings mounted in steel housings and bolted to heavy bearing brackets. The motor power is transmitted via a flexible coupling. The maximum operating economy is obtained by applying a speedcontrolled motor. Maintenance requirements are very moderate, the lubricating frequency depending on the operating conditions. Bearing temperatures up to 100oC are acceptable. Monitoring equipment to guard against excessive vibration levels is available as required. Thermal sensors are included as standard. A complete type designation is e.g. HAf 315/345, the letters indicating: H: Shrouded, with backward curved blade A: Single inlet, with inlet box between bearings. F: Fundamental width of blade

The letters are followed by two sets of digits showing nominal/actual impeller diameters in cm.
